  1. Hi all. I just completed my new D8T. This is its 1st shake down run. Shot with my GoPro Hero3+ Silver using the headband mount. I love this mount as the camera see what I see and no more attempting to do the 1 handed radio camera juggling act. Enjoy.
  2. I'm Officially in the D8T Club. Just completed mine yesterday. I got a few pics of it. And after discovering I had let my receiver battery get to low to use while building this, lol, I did manage to run a couple tanks thru it last night. Even with the stock HPI 4.6 from my Trophy Truggy in it, it really opened my eyes to the difference of a good truggy(the TT) to an awesome truggy(D8T). Obligatory 'pics or it didn't happen' pics Oh and a youtube video as well.
  3. Hi Gents and Ladies...if any are present. I just finished up my new Hot Bodies D8T Nitro Truggy. I wanted to place a handful of clean pre-bash photo's before it gets dirty and scratched up. Kit was a lot of fun to build. I made a few changes to chassis set up that I found worked well on other vehicles and from my first run, I wasn't to far off. Anyway, here it is riding on Pro-Line Badlands mounted on 1/2" offset Desperado wheels.
  4. Big Brown truck dropped off my new D8T and some parts today. Now if A-Main didn't ship everything via donkey, Id be up to my elbows in a new Truggy build.
  5. Hey thanks. Yeah I am 'editing challenged' at best. This vid was one of my first Ive ever done and still just barely scratching the editing skills as a sub novice grade at best. Ima noob. And the camera rig needs some work. Literally just thrown together from some stuff I had hanging around the house. Mostly just in the process of doing some camera rig R'n'R for short change. Main thing I found is that the bounce effect wasn't the light cpvc tubing I first suspected, but how the caster was only attached directly onto the body roof supported with a 2x3" piece of Kydex. The entire body was being shifted on the body posts as it flexed pretty badly. But I learned from it and will figure a better way.
  6. I don't personally own one, but know some guys who do. Its a pretty good buggy for fairly short money. Main complaints that are easily taken care of would be the front lower a-frames are weak/brittle and break fairly easy. But since its release, RPM has come up with a replacement set made specific to the SC10B. Some guys were using the regular SC10 SCT RPM arms, but had to modify them to work properly. Only other negative was the tires were so-so. But other than that these have become quite a hit here in the US. They share many of the Associated FT upgrades from the SCT.
  7. So I've had my 4.6 TT for @ 5/6 weeks now and really enjoy it. But the D8T is just tooooooo enticing to me. Really very reasonably priced here in the US. Just a couple upgrades(better shocks and steering parts) I want to do cost almost 1/3rd the cost of the D8T kit. Only hold up for me is whether I add a new engine into the order or wait and see how it goes with my current 4.6. The new Tessman edition is coming out soon, but not really into that as I bash and don't need to make race weight and IMHO CF isn't always the best part for bashing. But I have read that all the trick parts in the Tessman will be available 1 piece at a time eventually. Decisions, decisions. Good problem to have sometimes
  8. Hi all. I shot another quickey GoPro video today using a homemade 'experiment' swivel roof mount from odds n' ends I had on hand. I destroyed it in @ 10 minutes but got @ 6 minutes of decent video from the unique perspective. and have better idea how to build a better more solid mount in the near future. So just a fun little video. Does show the Badlands ripping up the grass pretty well in this one. Enjoy.
  9. I see you already ordered some, but another amazing must have set of drivers are made by MIP. Thorp Drivers are extra hard and will get out those pesky grub screws after they have rounded off all the other hex keys. http://miponline.com/cgi-bin/sc/ss_mb.cgi?storeid=*100a321d27069630eff7&ss_parm=A69d67f58594daddec60f163d35f4378c
  10. Thanks Rob.1 These are the Proline Badlands 3.8" pre mounted on Desperado 1/2" offset 17mm wheel's. I love them. Wear is great and they hookup on my grass surface really well. Pro-line Part # for these is 1178-11 Here's the direct link if It works http://prolineracing.com/tires/badlands-3.8-mounted-on-desperado-black-1/2-offset-17mm-wheels/
  11. Finally figured out how to load pics and vids on this site. Nothing like the power of Lipo. But Nitro sounds soooooo much better and this shows just how nice Badlands work on grass
  12. Hi all. I just picked up a new GoPro Hero3+ Silver mainly for RC use. This was my very first attempt to film from the top of the TT. Was very happy how well it worked as I took the easy approach and just used a stick on mount directly to the shell roof. No muss no fuss. And still just learning the very basics of editing, so no music or fx. Just raw footage as I messed around with it. Enjoy.
  13. Anyone found a good spring set up for the stock shocks? I found that the stock shocks dampen really well when I changed them to 50w. But springs are lagging. As they get use, they are getting softer and I keep having to add preload spacers. Spacers are okay up to a point, but I can tell these use a very flat rate spring and soft one at that. Heavier weight springs are going to be a must. Thanks
  14. Thanks mydoddy69. Yeah I hear what your saying. This was my first foray into Truggies and I'm sold. But already having a bit of buyers remorse or more like a "I should have bought _________ instead". The D8T is a strong 'maybe' right now. But I let myself fall into the spend more than I should trap on RC's so Im trying to avoid that again. So I've been drooling over the parts that King Headz still produces for the Lightning. But where Im not too deep into this financially...yet, maybe I should just fix what I break with cheap factory parts and put my upgrades budget on hold and save up for a Losi 8ight 2.0 or possible the AE FT truggy.
  15. Ive been getting my Roto Start to work okay without having to modify or anything. I found a happy spot between the LR lower arm and the axle where I can just sneak the stater shaft thru. I do have to compress the suspension just a little to keep it the shaft from hitting anything. But find that I push down on the glow igniter does that with my left hand and run the Roto Start with my right. No help needed.
