  1. I have read the instruction manual and i am not sure how to do these things. Can you please give me some tips?
  2. Hi all, While driving around our home track i took it over a jump, it landed and then started to slow until it stopped. Inintially i thought the battery was dead but after a full charge still no go. When i plug it in there is no noise (tune) and the green light in the ESC continuously flashes Any tips on what is wrong, tests i can do and how to fix would be much appreciated. Thanks
  3. Not sure how to check what the cells are reading Yes the main cable
  4. Hi trying to charge a new Orion Rocket sport 4200 lipo 25c 7.4v battery Settings on the charger are 4.2 7.4v (2s) every time it comes up with battery check low voltage Im sure i have the settings right but it aint working What have i missed? Cheers Philth
  5. Great post Thunderwolf thank you I will try richen it out and see how that goes. It does have a nice steam of smoke under acceleration at the moment though.
  6. I have a consistant problem where my engine will start fine from cold, run like a champ and then after a quarter of the tank is used itll cut out. Have to let it sit for minimum 15 minutes before itll consider starting again. Sometimes topping up the tank to full again will shorten this process. Im thinking at has something to do with the fuel system but dont know where to start. Any ideas?
  7. New battery is a NVision 11.1V-3s 2200 30c Lipo Using a B6 06A intelligent balance charger Its obviously more intelligent than me coz i cant work out what setting to set it on to charge this battery without causing a small explosion. Have read the manual a number of times but am still struggling to get it right Help please
  8. Whats an OWB? If i went the roto id also need one of these http://www.modelsport.co.uk/thunder-tiger-starting-shaft/rc-car-products/33894 and one of these? http://www.modelsport.co.uk/thunder-tiger-pro-starter/rc-car-products/29916 Cheers The Philth
  9. At the risk of sounding like a complete noob can you explain to me exactly how the starter box and or roto start actually work?
  10. Finally managed to snap the cord. surprised it took this long to be honest. I can mess about repairing it, replace it with another pull start OR change to an engine starter. Car is a Thunder Tiger Tomahawk BX Is this is the right part to do the job? http://www.modelsport.co.uk/thunder-tiger-direct-drive-back-plate-new-style-pro-21-28/rc-car-products/30926 Am i doing the right thing by upgrading? Cheers
  11. Righto Gav dials relating to throttle on the transmitter are throttle trim and 2 x dials -hi & low - throttle ATV which "provides the function to preset independently throttle travel of the servo either side of nuetral. It offers easier adjustmentys to set the throttle operation at idle and maximum power" I kinda get it but mostly dont. Can anyone translate it to basic english for me please? Also, after i have stuck the new servo in, my plan is to turn it all (not start the engine though) on give the accelerator a couple of burst and then fit the servo horn, throttle linkage and brake linkage so that the carburetor opening is in the idle position - 0.5 - 1 mm am i on the right track here? sorry for being a dunce
  12. Yers the manual....RTFM? Have certainly read the manuals a number of times but being new to RC nitro its like reading dutch sometimes - dutch hater!!! haha Will lock myself away in the shed this weekend, resist drinking and have another go. Appreciate your help Gavin
  13. Ok....that sounds like what i didnt do with the last one but i dont know what that means exactly. Can you explain further please or if this is covered elsewhere shoot me a link
  14. Whilst waiting for my flash servo to arrive i found another el cheapo at the local toy store. Fitted it, refitted it, refitted it and got the beast going again until it went completely wide open, had a massive stack and servo no work no more :-| Anyway i know the new servo is waiting for me at the post office for collection tomorrow and before i go ahead and fit these and possibly stuff them up again tell me what the tricks/pitfalls are when fitting a new throttle servo.
  15. Thanks for the replies. Budget is going to be 250-350 - do you just order the stock standard, blow bits up and then order the better parts or trick it up from the start? Home is a reasonable big rural property so noise is not an issue i have a nitro tomohawk bx but am thinking something a little more offroad for jumps, airtime and cartwheels which i dont think my car is built for.
