  1. HPI used to offer belted slicks for the SRS4... They turn up once in a while on eBay.
  2. Glad to hear it. Been thinking of picking up a set of the HPIs (for the front end only) for on road this Summer. Just for convenience mind you, had her pretty diaed for ashphalt last Summer with the PSs. Going to stick with the PSs in back.
  3. The Powerstrokes are great shocks, especially for the rough stuff. However the front PSs are too long to fit all the possible set up lengths. So for a track I'm going to vote HPI, at least up front.
  4. You already got some adjustable upper arms to dial her in nicely, good start! Gonna want some for the rear too!

  7. Some decent shock replacements are the #1 upgrade. I went with the Proline Powerstrokes. Awesome shocks. The (metal) HPIs are pretty nice too, maybe better for the front end in terms of fit, since the Prolines are a bit long (for the front end only, rear is fine). Metal front and rear braces (HPI/GPM/Integy, whatever) are going to reduce flex big time. Highly recommended. Also HD shafts are worthwhile as replacements when the time comes, they will last much longer. Universal drives to replace the front dog bones will be more efficient. I would stay away from metal arms if your driving off road and bashing. Besides stock plastic arms are inexpensive so you can replace them as needed, no biggie.

  9. Broken shafts are unusual. Especially on a new motor. Usually the pinion will give first. There must be a mesh issue somewhere. Check how the shaft and pinion line up with the spur. Look at the old pinion/ spur and check for uneven wear (like the pinion is worn on one edge only). Since you did a rebuild, double check that everything is properly tightened up (motor mount, centre diff mount, etc). Also, check that your esc is braking first before allowing you to go in reverse. Unlikely to be the culprit, but going from fwd straight to rev will cause serious shock/ strain to the drivetrain, shaft and motor. What were you doing when it snapped? With three diffs it's unlikely that it's a shock to the drivetrain from jumping or rough terrain is causing the issue. Besides the WR8 drivetrain was made to handle much bigger wheels (Bullet) and is pretty tough. Are you running more than 3s? I could see 4s or 6s maybe snapping one just from being so overpowered. Of course you may just have just been unlucky, but two broken shafts would make me suspicious for sure.

  12. Why not try your current motor with the smaller sized 3s battery? You might pick up a couple extra mph. Regardless, 72.6 mph is 116.8 kph! That's dam fast for this type of car. What size pinion are you using BTW?
  13. 72.6 mph even with the extra weight of the bigger batt! A rally rocket for sure.
