  1. Hey guys. I broke a plastic shock cap yesterday which is part number 40049 and it's out of stock until the end of may! Does anybody know any other parts from other cars that will fit my hyper Vs shocks and the stand off on the shock tower? This car is all that's getting me through lockdown on our walks!
  2. I've been running a hobbywing 2.1 120a for the last 3 years and its an excellent bit of kit and can be picked up cheap now. Extreme stock is also a good cheaper version of mine. It will be great for running blinky or boosted. I run 13.5 boosted and its never skipped a beat. Motor wise I also reccomend the turnigy trackstar 13.5, fantastic motor which is easily competitive with the big names for a fraction of the cost. 20 quid allturn USA servo and you'll have a great setup which will compete. Couple it all with a turnigy 6000 2s hardcase lipo and for not much over 100 quid youl be ready to race. I'm not saying those are the best options out there but its what I would go with as a minimum. Go too cheap and you will find yourself wanting to upgrade in a few months. And then when the time comes get yourself a good chassis. I recently picked up a tamiya trf419 for £130 and its absolutely fantastic. Easily keeps up with all the top drivers at my 2 clubs
  3. Its not going to be the most competitive car out there but itl be a good starting point until you can afford a better model. Dont be tight when you buy the electrics, get something good that is going to last and be competitive, then when you are ready for a new chassis you can just swap the lot over.
  4. Took one hell of a knock last night and managed to bend the front left front bulkhead and as soon as I bolt the topndeck down it tweaks the chassis. Tried bending it back but it won't budge. The part is 60 quid for a pair which I can't really justify on a car which cost me 170 brand new 3 years ago.. Anybody breaking one?
  5. What's the best additive to use on a low grip carpet? I use sxt at one of my meets and it's fine plenty of grip. But another venue even when I drop to sorex 28s the grip is terrible. Is the Nosram or lrp additive a massive improvement over sxt?
  6. I'm after a new servo as my alturn USA has developed a fair amount of play now. I've been eyeing up the savox 1252mg and 1251mg Which would suit a 13.5 boosted setup better?
  7. K I've never ran blicky but I know It will need to have a fairly big pinion, maybe start with a 27 and work from there In 13.5 boosted I run fdr of 8ish which is a 20 tooth pinion and 84 spur with an internal ratio of 1.9
  8. Depends on the track, motor, boosted/blinky? Not a straight forward answer mate
  9. Hobao h4e, as good as any other car for more than half the price! http://www.tjdmodels.com/hobao-h4e-110th-scale-pro-electric-4wd-touring-car-kit-p-5501.html In all seriousness though the xray seems most popular and parts support it fatastic. I run hobao and it's excellent, won't be changing it until parts are no longer available Mi5 evo is a great car and parts support from Schumacher is brilliant
  10. theres loads up here! Every other Friday night you've got Sheffield and district model car club. We race most classes apart from buggy. Based at concord sports centre Then every other Sunday you got have south Yorkshire raceway at the same venue, alternate Sundays to the Friday club. Then on alternate Sundays to the other Sunday club you have got swifts raceway, based at Rotherham, Killamarsh. I've never been but it is apparently a good club.
  11. F1 is making a big comeback up at our club in Sheffield. Had a full heat of them the last few months and now the drivers are learning how to set them up on our tc carpet track they are actually pretty good to watch
  12. Bump, need this gone now so 100 collected is the lowest I'll go.
