  1. Nice one OHO with the Triumph! Picked up this Jet Fighter as my latest acquisition ;
  2. Congratulations Yoodoo, wonderful feeling isn’t it!! OHO, Can highly recommend the Aprilia Caponord ETV. It’s an adventure tourer, Rotax V twin 1000cc engine, its a cracking bike, will scratch about like a sports bike and shrugs off carrying big weight, doesn’t even notice barely when loaded like a camel.

    Tamiya Pricing

    This is going to harm sales I fear.
  4. Nice to see bikes out and about... Was out camping in Wales last month...my bike is on the far left... The Diavel is a cracking bit of kit, I succumbed to one earlier this year...162bhp, 0-60 in 2.6 seconds courtesy of the torque, fat tyre and long wheelbase making it one of the fastest accelerating bikes!
  5. Some lovely guns on here... I just got an air rifle for my birthday, as much as I would have loved a Weirauch pcp jobbie, the budget only went to this humble Milbro Hunter Tracker with scope. The scope is all dialled in now and it does pack some power (supposed to be 11.5ft/lbs). It's quite heavy at 3.7kg and it has quite a violent recoil which affects the accuracy somewhat. It was about £170 all in. The silencer unscrews which shortens the barrel quite a bit, doesn't make a lot of difference to noise imho! I went for the .22 version. Some lovely rifles on here. Well done chaps.
  6. Close shave! Happened to me once in a car the throttle got nailed to the carpet on a long nsl road, I was going way too fast as I lifted for the t junction the grommet through the bulkhead came detached jamming the throttle linkage. I clutched in and turned the engine off and used the gears still to slow down and brakes/handbrake the lot. Hitting the kill switch would have stopped the engine screaming but its all about what happens in the moment, at least you pulled the clutch quick and get to tell the tale. A mate of mine had his thundercat throttle jam after getting it dyno jetted many years back, he ended up overshooting a junction and straight into a hedge the other side narrowly missing the cars that were coming through. Fortunately he was ok. Could have ended up so much worse. A bit of mechanical knowledge and experience can make all the difference.
  7. The brake bleeder! Edit, my bad, see you only ordered it last night, not received!!
  8. What’s the verdict then??
  9. I’ve been hoping this would get re-rere’d for some time. I’m there dude...this was the rirst Tamiya I built myself back in 1990 and fond memories of how impressive it was.
  10. Their brake levers look really tasty but they’re not cheap, wouldn’t even do anything off at the bike show!!
  11. Clutch slave failed on my Caponord on its last outing a couple of months back so this came in the post today to replace the notoriously problematic stock one... Looking forward to getting it back up and running.
  12. I use a Futaba 10J. 40 model memory, 10 channels, sprung sticks (you just remove the ratchet plate (only 2 screws). Receivers are £30 for suitable Futaba 6ch ones which are nice and compact. You can pick up 8J and 10J’s on ebay cheap sometimes from heli/drone users that are chickening out.
  13. You’ll see on page 1. I only changed out the box on one car, the classic wagon to a P1 box. The rest were on the cars we owned, each one tuned up. We’ve been through a few scoobies over the years cheers Nito
  14. My comments were in response to your comment above ^ merely adding my experience of the 5 speed WRX and its predecessor the classic and P1 gearboxes. I’ve experienced classic, P1, bug, blob and hawk gearboxes as well as the STi 6 speed. Classics will fail at much over 320lbs/ft (TY752 gearbox) which seemed to be their common failure point. Later 5 speeds (TY754) found in P1 and WRX bug/blob/hawk were stronger. After destroying my classic box I went with a P1 gearbox. In mine it was running around 360lbs/ft and hanging in there. I wouldn’t suggest they would go much further for reliable use and suspect mine was stretching its longevity.
