  1. Hey suicideneil, That's a great help, thank you. So, correct me if I'm wrong, a 74gf spring will offer more stiffness and resistance than, say, a 54gf spring? Then, if I were to increase the spring length also, this will, offer yet more resistance and stiffness? Thanks ance again. Dag.
  2. Hi all, I have an Hpi flux Vorza, which I LOVE. But I have a question, which is probably, stupidly easy, but I just can't get a definitive yes or no, so I'm sure the good people on this forum will kindly be able to help. Q: On the shock absorbers, which colour springs (they come in a variety) offer the most and least resistance? So which colour should I chose to make the ride 'stiffest', for example? Again, the answer eludes me, despite searching. I warned you it was ewpp
  3. Thanks to those who answered.... Helpful as always. The issue of finding a clear Vorza wing is a mystery.... Why so difficult?!
  4. Hello everyone. Following previous, immensely helpful advice, I would like to tap into the forums' knowledge, as I have two questions, one of which at least, I am guessing will be easy . The other, I'm not so sure about! So I will start with the easy one: I spent a fair whack on a Max Amps LiPo cell recently, for my HPI Flux Vorza. It goes like a rocket! But... I am planning on having some times, of say a few days or weeks, when I won't be using it. My question: in what 'state' should I conserve my LiPo when not in use, so as not to damage it and keep it as good as possible? Should I run it to the ground or store it full or half charged? If I should run it to the ground, what's the best way to ensure it is "flat" ?? THANK YOU!! Now the second, trickier one.... I have bought a clear, new body for said HPI Flux Vorza, and have done my own... Erm.... Snazzy... Paint job (ok, so I need more practice!!). BUT I cannot find, for love nor money, a new clear, rear wing! One that is even, say, plain black with no decals would be fine. I have searched everywhere!! PLEASE can someone point me in the right direction?? The one that came with it, black with orange decals, looks a mess with my grey and pale blue body. Thank you in advance, great people, and happy R/C - ing!!! Thank you!
  5. Thank you to all the replies; I will take these on board, and have a think! Cheers, Dag.
  6. Hi everyone. I am trying to "hot up" my HPI Vorza. One thing I'm doing is experimenting with the gearing. I wanted to change motor pinion gear from the standard 15 tooth, to 19 tooth, to both increase control at lower speed (with slightly less acceleration, but that's just fine!!), while giving a slightly higher top end speed - perfect! However, the adjustable motor mount cage simply won't accommodate this as standard. Any more than about a 17 tooth pinion, and the motor cannot be moved far enough to get a smooth gear mesh. My only option is to strip the chassis, and have the oval holes elongated (drilled) to accommodate the pinion - rather a hassle. And the pinions go up to 21 teeth!! I learnt the hard way, and at the moment, I have an unemployable 19 tooth pinion! Does anyone have any tips for fitting the 19t with a smooth, efficient quiet mesh?? Thank you. Also, I note Spur gear can be changed too. Would this be a better option? Thanks everyone!! Dag.
  7. Thanks everyone, I have gone with RCbutcher's recommendation and am trying out a pair of the proline road rage! Thanks all. Dag.
  8. Hello. I have an HPI Flux Vorza, and am very happy with it. I now have it tuned so it goes like a rocket. However, increasingly, I have found myself enjoying racing it with friends but on tarmac (yes, I know it is an off road car strictly...). But I just cannot find any tires here in s.e. England that do a decent, grippy job on tarmac. Pls can someone advise? I Would rather keep the diameter the same as that supplied, as I have quite a lot of spare wheels. So... If anyone can recommend the name and supplier of tires that fit an hpi flux Forza, but for on-road, tarmac use, I would be sooooo grateful!! Thank you everyone in advance!
  9. Just a quick update - my new Vorza (my first electric brushless car, after old school electric and nitro models....), with the MaxAmp cells fitted, goes like nothing I have ever seen!!!! It has blown me away. Now I just need to tinker with the gearing. But thank you again!!!
  10. THANK YOU PEOPLE FOR YOUR HELP!!!!! You rock!!
  11. Hello. I am sure this will have been posted before, but I cannot find it, so.... I have just bought a MaxAmps 5450 mah, 18.5 V LiPo to go in my new Vorza flux. I am told it is purpose made. Now here's the obvious question: the Vorza is wired to take TWO LiPos. I have an adapter in the form of a short oval circuit, with a Deans connector on the end. But how does this wire ion, so that the two connectors from the esc become just one, to plug into my battery? I know it sounds confusing, but I'm sure anyone who has been here know what I mean. I need to fit ONE LiPo into my Vorza, which is wired to take TWO. I have a small adapter, but no idea where it fits in. HELP PLEASE!!!!! Diagrams would be especially welcome! Thank you everyone!!!! Dag..
  12. Hi peeps, Yes my lipo is fine - top notch in fact, but thanks for the suggestion. Wrighty8766, sorry but what does re binding mean?? Thanks! Dag.
  13. Hello! Can anyone help?. I have an HPI trophy flux! not used in about a year. It is almost immaculate, and I plan to sell It soon. I was checking it over today. I attached a good quality, fully charged LiPo, and had new cells in the transmitter, and... Nothing!!!! I remember it working perfectly last time I used it. The fan "whirs"', the receiver light flickers, but... NO response from the transmitter! Have tried everything! My only thought is, I also have an HPI Vorza, the two have identical transmitters. Could the be mixed up? Very unlikely, as I got the Vorza way after the Trophy, and have used it very recently. Any help Please?! I have tried re-setting the receiver, different transmitters, everything! But it is dead, apart from a healthy whirring, and flashing receiver light. Any ideas/comments/etc would be worth soooooo much! Thanks! Dag.
  14. Hello everyone, Thank you all so much for so many helpful replies - and all so quickly! I've been given lots to think about/investigate, not least, exploring the resources of these pages and forum (thank you maestereo!). I have almost certainly decided to ditch the two-speed idea. I think I will be looking at buying an hpi 26cc pull start, and possibly custom pipe, to give it some more oomph. Hi Thunderwolf; I don't know if we could come to some arrangement where you could assist with the more delicate parts of an engine replacement? Not sure what form this would take, but is this something you would consider? I live about 25 min straight up the M20 from ashford, 5 minutes from the motorway. With three Bajas, I'm guessing you're something of an expert. Would you be willing to consider helping out a relative "novice"? No hurry - please do think about it! Thanks again to all, Dag.
  15. Oops not sure what happened.. I just posted the title for this forum thread.. Sorry! So I have been dabbling in the world of RC cars since i was a teenager in the late 80's. After a break, due to work and all,I got back into it as I needed a hobby. I am now the proud owner of an HPI Baja 5b. Here's my question: Having had huge fun with the standard model for about 2 years, I keep reading about the "Kings two speed engine version, around 30cc or so ( mine is the standard 23cc). So... Does anyone know where I can get these in the England (I live in the South East, in Kent). More important, I need someone dependable, who knows what they're doing, to either do the swop, or assist me In doing it, as I'm not very confident. ANY help is HUGELY appreciated, thank you in advance!!!!
