  1. Nice mk3 fiesta sd not many left around in that nice condition. Sure the wheels are from a mk2 popular model worth a few quid to someone who needs a set to put there car back to original don't ruin it fitting alloys. Is your an early mk3 could be fitted from factory left overs . Enjoy your 1st 1.1
  2. This conversion has been done before use 0 offset wheels slimmer wheel hex or shave the ones fitted . You can buy Flaired drift arches an fit them to, or make your own from millieput. Think there's one floating on this forum that bigus built in the drift section unsure what chassis he used though
  3. So you have fitted kings pan into each gap of the joists ? If so then no probs, if your wanting to staple anything over the joists to stop dust drafts I'd use breathable roofing roll or the foil stuff any will work most use the foil to keep heat in on new builds etc the breathable stuff is used on re roofs usually under the tiles & lath so that will work to as you say you have the older felt stuff? Its all down to cost the foil one costs more but will store the heat more. You could always use plaster board some say it costs more but if you have a local buildbase or wicks they sell of the damaged edge ones that the trade won't buy cheap you can just cut that bit off an board the loft out as you get it. Keep us posted how you go hope it helps ....edit an the soffits should keep the roof damp / condensation free if vented correct an you don't have any leaking from slipped tiles or bad bedded ridge tiles or leaking valleys .
  4. The ford St & rs breaker I deal with said there is no good standard springs even new ford but as urs has done 30k an your pride an joy keep it stock with ford replacement Then , & fit a pair though as one will be stiffer being new never fit a single spring if you can you may feel it's stiffer on corners on one side . Yes they do break like dryed spaghetti easy. But I'd still try coil overs even if only drops the ride hight a few mm not talking 60 mm sure you can get some little less. Try chat on fest owners club see what all the St guys run , I sold ours few weeks ago was just not going to keep replacing springs & struts an coil overs wasn't an option with my mrs using it up the horse yard I wouldn't even let her put a bail of hay in the back . I even fitted rear shocks before I sold it because one started to leak an knock from the bad uk roads . Must be the worst ford for shocks & springs I've had more than my fare share of fords an still have a few but never broke a spring ,till had that fest there as weak as Vauxhall pig tail ones .
  5. As that model fest the springs are common for breaking I had two go on front n/s on ours one was driving it the other was just placed the strut on the ground & not dropping it they are that bad. Coil overs an lowering springs if you can get away with it from insurance . You ask any ford breakers they will tell you standard springs are pants even the struts leak an bearing tops fall aparts so expect if you go the swap spring route expect issues off bearings in top strut .
  6. You will know bud cause it's like a washing machine you can only tap the motor so many times till it won't go again if you get me , I'd say if there cheap buy a set as back up for when it does unless you can get a s/h starter cheaper local being mk 4 they prob not dear . It could last years or days or mths it just one of them things but it's telling you it's on route to go one day .
  7. Good news bud Yeh brushes at fault common on them, least u found where it is for when brushes fail again to rebuild it.
  8. Ok bud least that's that out the way, no not above wheel that's the gearbox end plate on some Vaux models that's the way you slide the centre gearbox spline out to remove clutch rather than dropping gearbox out , ..... regards starter as I say if cars up in the air as you are under it look with a tourch to the left inner cv gaiter it's just above that . Think it's 2x 13mm bolts but some are spline or torque bits just depends what's on yours. Just remove battery lead to before you undo it though from starter , I'm sure there's a YouTube vid floating about of a full how to remove an rebuild the starter been few years but should be still on there , is yours mk 4 or 5
  9. Foggy the starter is above drive shaft on left as you look up from under car , common fault on them is bushes go you can refeb it yourself if it is that that's at fault on yours but double check the spade has not jumped off the starter 1st some have spade an main cable from battery it's also looped to the alternator to charge in the loom. You had water issues aswell didn't you ? You sure it's not head gasket an not hydro locked the engine ? Silly things can happen I've seen some cars not even start or just cut out in the past due to header tanks running low but it was a 1800 ford . Is ur astra td or petrol
  10. Yup Deffo the bigger engine well head the mag built one an new pure 10 had the smaller head. Front shock towers n rear diffs & the grub screws in shafts n diff cups they are the worst bits I was allways fixing or sold a lot of online back in the day. Edit an the cheap clutch springs or rubbish roller bearing in the c bell
  11. Bumpers look spot on Lel , regards the sliders I'm sure the stock ones are linked to the inner or outer link setup , I think the stock ones work well other than folding in now & then on side impact, where if they was steel I think the impact would soon bend the rails & knock tranny out of line but it's just test & try & depends how hard you use the rig my brothers take a good beating all the stock links I ended up replacing last night with home made ones the stock ones are like lolly pop sticks lol. Great rigs though he's only swooped shocks for boomer ones & links upto now even stock tyres work well.
  12. Tamiya tlt axels are narrow but finding a set or donor truck could be hard . Or even use tamiya truck axels ? I could sort you some steel chassis rails if needed that can have front & rear cut off if needed to suit body. What's your idea building a Pajero or wrangler with both live axels ? .
  13. Good luck bud either way an enjoy family time it's something us self employed folk don't get much of an Deffo little or non rc time . Thanks for your great service when had stuff.
  14. . Yeh this one but no missiles I got it from local booty for 20p as had no extras with it just http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Action-Man-VW-Super-Turbo-Car-Rare-in-vgc-with-missiles-/201302141479?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2ede8aea27
