I'd get rid of most of the alloy and stick with plastic mate. Alloy breaks/bends unlike plastic which flexs. You can put any tank protector on it. Dint bother with alloy one they leak.
Savage 25 has 14mm wheel hexs so any 14mm wheels will fit.
Get a wheelie bar and engine/roll cage from a savage x and strengthen up the savage. Parts are cheap on eBay and all bits from all the savage range will fit yours.

I think I'm right in saying the force engines are bigger in size, as in might not fit. Don't get a hpi xl engine 5.9 I heard lots of bad things about them going wrong from the start.
The hpi k4.6 is a good engine, they do a f4.6 aswell but the k4.6 is better.
I have had the os max vg30 engine and I currently has a lrp z30r which has 4.12 horse power and is bloody fast, lol most 21 to 28 size engines will fit straight on the savage mate, there's loads out there on eBay just depends on your budget and if you want it too go like a rocket or not.
I would personally toughened it up with heavy duty parts if it hasn't been done already ( hd diff cups, dog bones, bulletproof diffs from a savage xl/flux, also check too see if the steering servo is standard ( hpi sf1, hpi sf2) as you will want a metal geared high torque servo for the steering.
No gaskets on the engine head just a head button ( the bit right underneath the cooling head that the glow plug screws into, they also have head shims ( different thickness washers for compression)
If it's not starting maybe a good idea too post why and what you did too it?? Have you flooded the engine?? Dd you prime the engine?? Have you messed with the carb screws ect??
Hope that helps

There's nothing wrong with alloy parts, so long as they're used right. Alloy wheel hubs are better as they need to be strong, but you need suspension arms to bend in a crash, so plastic.

i have used the instructions that came with engine and just fine tuned the high speed needle and now runs fine and about 230f do i need to adjust the low speed needle as it accelorates ok but no wheelies!! been told to leave the mid needle well alone

dual disks help alot, you should get those.
as for the linkage, if you have ever had problems with the throttle linkage then go ahead and get it.
