The kill switch arrived while I was away. Took about a week.  Got it fitted today and hope to try it out tomorrow.  It was fairly easy to fit.  I had to drill two holes in the plastic case for the fuel tube and one for the receiver wire.  I've attached it with velcro and used a tie wrap for extra security.  The bodyshell fits without touching the casing.

Been out today with it and it works as it should.  I used the 3rd channel on the transmitter and also turned the transmitter off completely and on both occasions the engine cut out within a couple of seconds.  The engine did increase in revs but soon died.  It might seem alot of money but if it saves the car from shooting off and hitting something or someone then It's a small price to pay.

Thanks for the feedback, Sunny. Isn't it nice having the security of a remote kill switch, plus being able to kill the engine without removing the body or plugging the hot pipe? Just like with anything new, there will always be haters. Sunny, are you taking advantage of the low voltage cutoff feature, to protect your radio battery pack from over-discharge? This is real handy if you run a 2S LiPo. You can set it to kill the engine once the pack gets down to 6v.

Thanks,
Kent

Hi.  I'm still using a nimh receiver pack and have not run it down far enough for the voltage cut off to kick in.  I normally go out for a couple of hours and still have some charge left so i'll have to stay out a bit longer or increase the cut off point and see if I can get it to kick in.
I had a kill switch for a petrol car so why not a nitro. They might not weigh as much but could still do some damage to someone and the car if it decides to shoot off on it's own.

The Bumble Bee is set to shut off fuel once the rx batt gets down to 4v. You can set it at 3v, 4v, 5v, or 6v.

I agree. Runaways can happen to anybody. I've seen sponsored Pro racers have runaways.

These are kinda funny.

I've seen plenty of runaways with high dollar spectrum radios. I don't even fully trust my Futaba 4PKS without a kill switch.

Always used the radio's that came with the cars, never used a kill switch and never had a runaway. Must just be lucky lol.

Bit of an old thread but didnt want to make a new one :smilies_eusasmiles2:   I recieved my bumble bee nitro killswitch today took about 20min to fit, just tested and it works very well i think this would be a good part to have for all nitro owners that want the extra piece of mind.
