Following on from the successful Cat SX, Schumacher introduces the new Cat SX2. Now even stronger and more durable than ever before the new 4wd buggy is fitted with all new large capacity 13mm big bore shocks and high downforce max sized rear wing. Claiming to be the best balanced car in its class, with optimum weight distribution due to its new stick pack lipo layout chassis and near centre motor position. An ultra efficient transmission makes the CAT SX2 incredibly quick off the line and offers awesome straight line speeds.

No, its the SX with all the updated team parts that were developed last year like big bore shocks, slipper clutch, top deck, wishbones etc.

Preds are pretty poor on anything but a flat track, and the Durango is around £150 more than this. :P

Isn't it more officiant to cut down the amount of belts you use, More belts is more friction is it not.

In theory, yesh, but then you're really compromised by where the electrics can go inside the car with less belts. With off-road racing, there isn't a motor limit, so efficiency of drivetrains aren't that important when you can just fit a quicker motor. Its a better idea to get the heaviest parts of the car (motor, battery pack, electrics) as close to the middle and as low down as possible, then fit everything around it.

Thats pretty unique for electric off-road though, most belt drive nitro racing touring cars are 3 belt, as is the legendary Losi XX4 4wd electric buggy.

DOH!!

how annoying is that, I just bought a cat sx kit around 2 weeks ago.

Is it possible to upgrade the kit I have to the sx 2 spec or is it a totally different kit?

It looks quite similar..

I don't think there will be an upgrade kit, but you can certainly buy all the new parts as they'll fit either the SX or SX2.
