I've found these on another forum so here's a sneak preview, the quality isn't great but they'll give you an idea of the new offering to sit sideby side with the 5b.It just looks like a SS kit RTR with a bumper and truck shell,Not sure wether I like it or not....

Looks a bit of a compromise.
HPI have wanted to get a new 1/5 scale car out, but also wanted to retain as much of the Baja tooling as they could.
If they were starting from scratch I doubt it would be designed like it is.

I think it looks pretty cool actually, Not sure exactly how strong that Bumper is going to be though. I doubt I'll wait for it as the 5b looks a lot better and already has a huge amount of 3rd party support on parts.

From what I can see,it certainly explains why there are so many unused holes and attach points on the 5b,makes me wonder wether or not this has been in the lookp since the conception of the 5b,also looks as though they may release an upgrade kit to change the buggy into the desert truck....

I can see the shell getting trashed unless its uber strong.

Hmmm i'm undecided on this aswell, no doubt you will be able to convert a normal badger to the 5t, but personally i'm holding out for a 'proper' HPI Gasser MT.

I'm not saying the 5B is bad but when a truck is based on a buggy they always look naff imo.

Well, its apparantly going out to the distributors and they've had the go ahead to finally start selling it.Should start seeing it in the US shops in a week or two.I wonder how long it is before Modelsport get them in stock,I guess they'll be one of the first to have them on pre-order in the UK...

If its anything like previous hpi releases, mirage wont get em for for a good month or more lol
What i would really like to see as i have previously mentioned, is a 4wd Savvy Gasser... But only time will tell!
