As requested, a review on Vapextech batteries.

Having used Vapextech 4300s, 3700s and IB4200's, I should be able to give a fair review.

Last  summer I bought a Vapextech 4300 pack for use with a fairly demanding  setup (oroin V2 10X1). The battery was a huge improvement over my  previous pack, with long run times (about 20 mins), and good  performance.

Then I purchased both a 7.2V and 4.8V 3700, which  I wanted to run in series with my Mamba Max (as recommended on this  forum). Performance appeared to be very impressive, but I later  realised this was more to do with the Mamba Max. The batteries got very  hot very quickly with the Mamba Max, and so I had to sell them to get  some IB4200's. The IB4200's ran cool, AND were a lot more punchy.

So  to summarise, Vapextech cells are excellent value for money, and for  the average basher they are awesome. I would recommed them to anyone,  as long as they do not wish to use them with a brushless, they simply  hold the system back.

Just a quick note, I always use corally connections with all my batteries ;)

For:
  • Value for money
  • Long run time
Against:
  • You  CAN do better (at a cost)
  • Not suitable for brushless (in my  experience)
For most people then, I would say Vapextech cells are  a good buy, they were great with the Orion V2 I had, which is a top  spec brushed motor.

Hope this helps someone :good:

Now that I own Alexi's 4300 pack, I agree - the run time is EXCELLENT - 25 minutes running before it got sluggish. Thing was, to properly discharge this took HOURS.

Yeah, I agree with Alexi (except for the brushless bit, I don't have one to test :() the vapextech ones were a big improvement over my other batteries, and I got good runtime, cheap as well

Yup, a fair point to make, charging and discharging times for the 4300 (and for the impatient, even the 3700!) are quite long, but that is not exclusive to the Vapextech packs. It will always be the case with high capacity batteries (unless you can afford a race spec charger).

Indeed, one of my earliest memories of the 4300 was at Michaels house, when his 'ebay special' pack destroyed itself in about 3 minutes, and I had to go round the garden on my own for another 20 minutres :P

Sounds like what happened to me yesterday, never had a battery get hot that quickly
Note this kids: Don't plug a receiver pack directly into a cheap receiver, even if its the right plug! as for some reason the receiver had 3 pins on the vattery port, not anymore rofl
