Lipo receiver battery and servos

Hi all

I've asked this question on another forum but wanted to get more answers.

Ive got a new buggy on the way (sworkz evo 2) and I'm hoping to use a lipo or life receiver battery.

My servos that I was planning to use are savox 1256 and a goteck hv1767. Both are very similar spec. Obviously the goteck is high voltage, but my first question is, would the savox cope with 7.4v?

second question, if it wouldn't cope, does any one have any hv servo recommendations for throttle for around £30

I was also wondering how the receiver would cope. I'm using a flysky reciever.

cheers

Forum fail with no replies.

I think youve made a poor choice with those servos only looking at the torque and actually response time is a little slow. I like .12 secs at 6.0v or better but I've decided to go for brushless race level servos this time.

Ive just ordered my second one of these the speed is great and the torque is more than enough, receiver should be fine.

This one is probably better but I couldnt bring myself to order it as the speed is a little slower.

I was considering this one as a better value option

Used a Life receiver battery, 6.6V, with no problems with Savox 1256 servo, no voltage regulator needed. Never used lipo receiver battery.

The turnigy lifepo4 batttery I recommended is a 6.6v life battery.

Savox are overpriced compared to gotech as savox is the main servo brand which racers like ty tessmann use. I dont appreicate paying for that kind of advertising so would recommend a cheaper brand. Also the gotech servo I listed is slightly higher spec than ty tessmann savox servo which he uses in his race buggy.

No need to use a voltage regulator with 2s lifepo4 but its very important to turn off after youre finished using the lifepo4 battery so you dont drain it.

Team orion make a higher capacity lipo receiver battery that can replace a standard nitro battery. I dont know if the mah rating is true though

That's a Lipo 7.4v, not Life 6.6V. I got my Life from Hobbyking.

Same here, I've used a life 6.6v rx pack in my St-1 for near on two years, alturn hi torque on St & stock ace still on TB plus it's not as fussy as a lipo.
