2wd is far more popular at most clubs. 4wd is easier to drive when starting out, but with less people you might find no matter how much you improve you still come last!

However the first and golden rule is check out the club first. There are several reasons for this:

1) What classes do they run? Most clubs run separate 2wd and 4wd classes, with 2wd's more popular. But some, mostly smaller clubs, run all buggys together. In that case 4wd's tend to dominate.

2) What is popular? The B5m Alex runs is a very popular car at many clubs, but curiously not mine. At my club the TM2 is the most common car and there are few B5m's at all. You should get what is popular as it helps with setups, spares etc.

3) What is for sale? Some club racers change cars every 20 mins it seems, which means there are always deals on barely used cars trackside. Whats more, and unusually for 2nd hand, you can be assured its not a rip off because the seller knows they'll be seeing you week in week out.

Hi, i race at my local club, olny been into it since jan, i went with the durango dex 210 rtr, its an indoor carpet track, it seems to suit the durango, they are very good cars and very strong, handles like its on rails, the stock rtr motor is a speed passion 13.5t, its very smooth and will get you into it to begin with, a standard 2s lipo will do, and a decent charger, i use mb models in leeds for durango, very good support there for durango and great customer service

MB Models do seem to have most Durango stuff in stock. I've never found any of mine (210 and 410) out of action due to parts not being available. It was harder to source all the Tresrey stuff on my 210 as not all of that MB stocked but they have all the bit you need.

However what I will say is that on our astroturf track my 210 is nowhere near as good as my Cobra 4210 (a hybrid based on a 410 rear end and 210 front end) so whilst the 210 remains a good car, and the RTR a bargain, there are other platforms that work better in some circumstances.
