Got myself a Scout

Recommended Posts

Hi guys like it says above, I'm planning on doing some mods over the weekend. I have taken wheels off to do the weights but I'm wondering whats the best eg no foam, star shaped foam or foam kept normal. I have changed tyres to Losi Rock claws at the moment.

I wouldn't recommend running the Rock Claws without foams. Tyre on it's own is too soft.. Star cut foams would work fine even if they're considered a bit old fashioned nowadays. There are other replacement foams available such as Pro-Line or the best foams are those by Crawler Inovations but rather pricy.

Some tyres are OK to run without foams but they're the ones with a bit of stiffness to them.

Thanks for the replies. Would the foam inserts from Rock claws be a better quality. I have noticed that they are slightly bigger then the stock foams but have noticed the stock foams are softer, would it be better to put the stock foams back in. I will be running in the local woods.

These are rock claws with the suplied foams on my wraith. They where a fairly tight fit on the bead locks with the foams, and looked to be 'oversized'. The wraith is running some weight as there's no plastic parts on it.. Full ally build with steel cage. On a level surface there's very little deformation.
