The Dark Knights Team Associated TC6.2

Recommended Posts

I've been lucky enough to pick up some sponsorship from XFactory UK & The RC Scale Workshop for my racing this year. XFactory offer some good option parts for the Team Associated TC6.2 so it was an easy choice to pick this car for the 2015 outdoor season to race at my local club, Stonehaven and District Radio Car Club and in the Much More GP rounds.

XFactory UK offer the excellent Vampire Racing range of electrics so I'm running a SR1+ esc, 7500mah 80c 2S lipo & 13.5t motor.

I'll be racing in SPEC class which consists of the following:

  • 1/10 electric touring car
  • relaxed body shell rule but must be 190mm
  • 2S lipo
  • 13.5t brushless motor
  • blinky esc
  • fdr between 5.1 & 5.4
  • Control tyre, this year it's the Volante 32R
  • No tyres warmers & no additive

Onto the photos:

Bet you are really pleased with it

I'm delighted with it thanks   It's a used car but you can't really tell it is apart from a few light scratches on the bottom of the chassis.

I still need to waterproof my electrics but will be doing that after the shake down this weekend. I'm entering the Schumacher Carpet Challenge this Sunday in Lochgelly, can't wait  :xd:

Thanks Jay

I entered the Schumacher Carpet Challenge on Sunday just past, March 29th, afraid I had a bit of a disappointing meeting.

There was 4 qualifying rounds & 1 final. The car was pretty loose at the rear in the first round so first set-up change I made was laying the front shocks down one hole on the tower, this helped a bit but still not there.

I missed the second round.

For the third round, next set-up change I made was laying the rear shocks up one hole on the tower, again this helped and started to feel more comfortable pushing the car around the track a bit more.

In the fourth round, the car started to develop a clicking which put me off slightly and lost my concentration a bit. I checked over the car and discovered I was missing an e-clip from the centre pulley which was allowing the pulley to rub against the top deck. I sorted the car out for the final.

There was only 6 touring cars at the event as the majority where racing GT12. I qualified last, the finals where split 3 & 3 so I was starting third in the B.

I started the final well and was making a good challenge for 2nd but then the clicking sound returned which put me off a bit so finished 3rd.

It was a good fun day none the less and good catching up with friends I don't see that often.

I stripped the car down today to find out where the clicking sound was coming from and discovered one of the rear driveshaft's has some excessive play in it so I've ordered a CVA rebuild kit and new bones which should sort out the issue ready for the outdoor season starting at my local club on April 12th which I'm really looking forward to.

Thanks Jay. I mainly race my touring car outdoors and not had that much experience indoors with the touring car. I usually race GT12 indoors but race the odd indoor with my touring car.

I certainly find the touring more challenging to drive fast indoors and really have to concentrate.

I'm afraid I don't have any videos of the local outdoor track but planning on putting something together this season

If you google "Stonehaven Radio Car Club" you'll see some images of the track on the club website, we're also on facebook too. I can post some links later if you wish.

That's the parts arrived to rebuild my rear driveshafts. Instead of replacing the stock bones with stock, I decided to take the opportunity to upgrade to Tuning Haus aluminium bones, the quality feels excellent. I'll be assembling them tonight so will update how smoothly they go together  :)
