Oh How Original
I like the look of these, look forward to some more pics. Is the plan try em all and keep what you like the best? Very similar. I've been on and off with the idea of either the G2 or the TF2 for ages (probably close to a year) back before I even built the SCX10 D90. I've been trying to find someone to let me have a go with either/or, to see which I prefer, sadly the opportunity has never happened, so I decided to pull the trigger on both, build them to an above average standard, use them both for a good few hours each, and keep whichever I prefer. However, I can see me just keeping both if I'm completely honest. It may seem a bit silly to some, but it's the only logical thing I could go with. Although I had the D90 shell on the SCX10 chassis, it's still not the same. So this was the only way I could try both, properly, and make an informed decision on which I prefer If you don't mind me asking what's your job? Door knob polisher to the queen. 53HRA
What someone does for a living has nothing to do with an RC thread. We are here to enjoy the hobby. Anything else please post in the lounge. Back on topic, what do you have planned for the body?
Geeze
Ah, try after you buy! I've fallen for that one before too Ruins my theory though, thought you were trying to see how many scalers you could put together for the cost of the average wraith build

Anything else please post in the lounge. Back on topic, what do you have planned for the body? I don't mind buddy, it's all taken as a joke I understand it may seem a bit show offy, but, I'm simply keeping a log for myself, especially with this one, as it's the first time using my DSLR for everyday purposes, rather than specialist subjects, so we shall see how it pans out Body wise, should be pretty simple for the normal D90, probably just single colour, black arches, white roof (for a change ) and maybe a windscreen surround, but I'm not going mental with accessories, roof rack, ladders etc... I want something simple and quite lightweight. And I also have the D90 pick up I'm building, which will be used on this chassis for the time being, BUT with that being a more 'stripped out' look, I may get an SCX10 chassis for that in future, for the extra articulation and so on. Time will tell Anyway, I've now put grease in everything it should be in, I've put the 3 link and 4 link mounts onto the axles and made up all the links necessary. And yes, I'm aware I need a new mat

Closest thing I ever got to actually using one, and I don't reckon your Mrs would have been happy if I tagged along to the Lakes with you But yeah, just going to take my time and try to really enjoy the build. Weather is crap so I won't be going anywhere for a while. Don't even have any electrics for it yet, well, aside from receiver and BEC

Sounds good to me Gary, give me chance to stretch the DSLR's legs lol. Got some really nice places local to me as well, if you'd fancy coming here that is, unless you have another location already in mind? And I made a couple of mistakes on my SCX10's D90 body, but it's nothing a bit of glue, styrene and putty can't fix Wow, nice one fella, another thread I shall have to keep a eye on now lol. Cheers Gaz, I shall be in touch with you in the near future about some bits for the pick up as well Well this and the tf2 should keep you busy while the last of winter gets shaken off Look forward to the running reviews, be good to see what you think, especially if they're both fairly stock with similar electrics Indeed, that's the plan, my next one isn't going to be for a little bit yet, however, I do already know what it is lol. I do plan on doing my comparison thoughts onn them both though, running them box stock, with identical electrics, the only difference will be the TF2 has a second servo and this doesn't, apart from that, they'll be identical in terms of box stock. First comparison, QC let a bad bolt slip through in my G2 kit, just tightened it up, not tight and the head sheered clean off. Time to get in touch with RC4WD customer service and see how they respond. I know it's a pence item, but it also gives me a good opportunity to see what they're like for replacing dud parts. Also got the mounts on the tranny as well.

Oh How Original
To be honest, I really enjoy building/tinkering/upgrading. It's nice to use them, but I often get more pleasure and joy from building. Hence why I have a fascination with kits rather than RTR's lol.
smeghead28
The problem I had with my D90 was some of the screw holes in the chassis just didn't seem deep enough for the size of screw they said to use. I got wise quite quickly and luckily I didn't snap any or get any cross threaded and stuck. There were a few spare screws in the kit anyway so used a couple of those in some places. I got wise quite quickly and luckily I didn't snap any or get any cross threaded and stuck. There were a few spare screws in the kit anyway so used a couple of those in some places. Their was plenty of thread there, it certainly wasn't a fault on my part, it only just to say started to get harder to turn and just snapped straight off lol. Something I wanted to ask, now I thought this was a one off with the TF2, but apparently not. They say for the transmission to transfer case shaft, you use a 10mm set screw, but the only thing that's 10mm in this that would work is the 10mm threaded rod. Trying to use that and it doesn't go through the holes of the outputs. It's fine through the threaded holes of the shaft itself, just not the transfer case and transmission outputs. Am I missing something here or do I need to drill these like I had to with the TF2? Certainly not the best of situations to be in, because they definitely don't provide the correct hardware for this part, in either of the kits.
