Upgrading T Maxx shock springs

Recommended Posts

I have an old T Maxx with the red springs. After setting my ride height etc I find the springs too soft but I'm struggling to find some firmer replacements.

I believe I'm looking for springs suitable for 'big bore' shocks, a length of 2.5"  and with a rating higher than the red stockers ( I THINK they have a rating of 2.5?).

Can anyone recommend me some suitable springs/store/company I can use to replace these big softees.

Thanks

Could try the thunder tiger mta-4 springs .The mta-4 is quite a lot heavier than the tmaxx so the standard blue springs may work well on the tmaxx or you could go with the medium springs

Thunder tiger spring rates from the manual:

I still don't know how to understand spring rates though.

Disassembled, cleaned, lubed, replaced seals in the shocks, replaced the four rear springs with the blue tigers and refilled all eight shocks with 40wt oil...

Having trouble keeping the front wheels on the ground now (which is fun, but makes tuning the LSN hard for a noobie), it handles the strights and bumps much better and resists cocking a front wheel into/out of corners..now it just tries to go round on two wheels :P

Gonna try 2x blue and 2x red springs all round, see if I can find the happy medium.
