Rear toe-in on KM002C

Recommended Posts

Guys,

I have noticed this evening (after doing alot of dissmantling and threadlocking) that the rear wheels on my KM seem to be quite heavily toed-in.  Is this normal and can it be adjusted?

Thanks

Andy

Pretty normal but also can be adjusted.

On the hubs, theirs little wedges/slices, you take those off and put a lower number one on, the lower the number, the less the gradient, and less angle toe in.

Or failing that, just flip it around, to have a similar effect.

Although a bit of toe in does help in the corners.

It's not something to worry about and unless it really bothers you, theirs no reason to change it, unless of course you want to.

Very easily changed though.

Ok so as i don't have any wedges that came with the car I'm guessing to change the angle would require me to either replace the plastic hubs with alloy ones which appear to comes with a whole range of wedges or find somewhere to buy some plastic wedges from.  Any suggestions?

Hpi only sell wedges with a full, rear hub set up (as originally fitted to the 5sc): we use the wedges in hostile ally hubs, 4 degrees for our lasses B and 3 degrees on my SC. The SC is faster, though some of this comes from it having a different idler gear in the box.

Folk who have driven the B have commented that they'd broken it, such is the severity of the 4 degree toe ;)
