Posted January 27, 2015 Share Posted January 27, 2015 I used to go to this quarry years ago on the crosses and trials bikes, I was out for fuel for the baja and picked some more oil up, and I decided to go and have a look at this old quarry I knew about, Omg its 5th scale heaven, burn corners, hill climing, if you want, theres old tyres laid around marking the corners, theres obviously still bikes going in there, plenty parking on a old side road just next to it, you could fall out the car and land in the quarry. some bits are steep to get in But theres a level access just off a main road but you can get well off the road, and maybe park 5 cars on that bit for easy access to the quarry. Jeepers, if you guys come over to langold for a bashing session ill take you all to this quarry before or go after from langold? Wow your going to be spoilt for choice, this quarry is amazing guys your going to love it, I wish I had my baja with me today when I was there, guttered im going tomorrow to have a look and get some pictures, the Google shot isnt worth looking at, it looks just like a field next to a field lol! Its very sandy around this area, I know I havent done the pictures of langold yet but iv had a plate full lately, but there is a over shot of the gravel track and the big concrete yard, get in touch and we'll sort it out, thanks steve. What a day iv just had, I went to a quarry today but not the worksop quarry, its a disused quarry again but man its awesome wow! I loved it, the only trouble is I broke it with in 10 minutes of been there, snapped a bottom front arm, snapped it right at the bottom ball joint, There a 40ft sand stone hill 35 degree hill, its awesome and my baja was wheeling all the way up it full throttle, im gunner upgrade these bottom suspension arms and im going again next week, and im going to have the dom pipe on, loads of power 29cc ported with the dom pipe on it, its going to be amazing guys come with me and experience this place, I need a camera of some kind that small enough to put on the baja and that I can set up somewhere so I can get some good videos of this place, omg! Posted February 11, 2015 Author Share Posted February 11, 2015 This map of the quarry was taken in 2009 Google, so its changed a bit its deeper now and its not being used now, its closed and has been for some time, thing is 2 baja's in there you feel lost, lol! So come on guys get out here its fantastic in there, but I do suggest you dont turn up with a baja straight out the box, it will brake it lol! This sand is a different ball game, I didnt realise how different it would be to running on grass, it dosnt free wheel in the sand, the baja just sinks, not like it free wheels on harder ground such as grass, You have to be on full throttle all the time and im sure thats going to wreck the bog bones, drive shafts, and you'll need somthing to cover the chassis lol! The sand packs its way in there, I had to scrape it off the inside of the chassis, under the servo tray, petrol tank, but beef it up and come along but like I said as standed itll brake mine did and im carefull with mine Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Loads to do there, but bashers beware though the sands deep if your new to it and your baja's standed it may brake it, its ruff but very much fun day out bashing, but if you don't fancy the quarry we can go and trash around this new track iv knocked up come and give it a go, let's get a race on! Come on guys iv got a mate here with a baja and he's about as much good as a ash tray on a motorbike, i want to race some one not just anyone someone with a 5th scale, ill try this ...... and make sure it's FAST coz you'll need it lol! Come on let's get it on, im itching to race, Jim your close by, are you coming? You've got a 5th scale come on dude let's go! Lol! It will be good though iv got some tracks knocked up and there not to hard, theres a few jumps but you can go around them if you don't want to jump it, i was told id get into jumps and i said not a chance, but if you can control a jump its bang on, but it can go wrong, thats what i was afraid of, jumping and braking it, but there as big as you make them really, you go slow small jump, you go fast big jump Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
