Hi all..

This is a special day for me.. this morning i received my HPI Baja 5b Flux, which in my opinion is the craziest car readily available. The sheer size of this thing and everything thats part of it is incredible. The motor is literally the size of if not larger than a coke can. the wires are super thick the servo is massive and the dog bones look like they could be from a real 1/1 car. Everything screams BIG and AWESOME Im super exited about this and ill upload some pics of the beast later today. About to take it for a test drive down my road...

Ill be using this thread for questions i have and for other people to post their questions or advice for me. This is my first large scale and every thing is new to me!

Cheers all

Just been out with mine!

Don't expect much from the stock rear tyres, they're shocking! Road tyres do help. However, all 1/5 scale cars eat tyres quickly when used on road! You've been warned! ;)

Yea te rear tyres are shocking lol but for me it's pretty fun as you have to use the throttle more carefully and be more precise with the steering I will be getting some better tyres soon though

Nice one, can't wait to see it at oxshott, I went there yesterday morning for a quick bash til it rained. What cell can it use?

I might wait till it properly dries out before I take this to Oxshott Jim it's looking all nice and new haha and it will run on 6s as I was just now and 8s

I got it of a guy from Facebook who used it once with different tyres so it's basically brand new the tyres are unused (until about an hour ago lol) and I got a good deal with two 4s batteries

I do so love large leccy cars! Turn the punch down as low as possible, this does help to get moving! Once it's above 10ish mph, then you can nail it.

Shameless plug; I've just posted a 10S vid of mine in the vid section.

So it's totally stock then? What's the esc In one of these?

Yep completely stock apart from sway bars I think not sure if they come as standard or not?

Nice!brushless baja looks like it will be a handful to control

Yea ok the road you have to be careful on the throttle to stop the car spinning out and you get a lot of oversteer.

Nice piece of kit, looks like your enjoying it already :).

Have fun.

Thanks.

Yea it's great fun can't wait to get it off road!

Yea I noticed that you need to slowly accelerate to get some speed then you can really give it the beans :)

Don't get the ESC wet, it'll not thank you for it ;)

I found 7s the sweet spot for bashing, 6 is tame, 8 is bonkers. Is the ESC still fitted with deans?

Yea I'm not planning on getting this anywhere near the water! And yea the esc still has deans but if not planning on changing them now as all my batteries and my other cars have deans

Take a reading of the data logger without the cap-pack, then take readings with the cap-pack, big difference in volt drop! I was seeing 3 volts of drop without, but it's usually only 0.7 volts with the cap-pack!
