Fg-Mart
Totally miss judged when i was goin for it. Slammed into some gates. Oh well part of the fun i suppose. Looks bent to me and the wheel fell off along with the extended axel. Any idea whats bents just by lookin at it? Gonna strip it later if i get time. Which i doubt i will have time ha Cheers. MAZ
Looks like the stupid eclip or circlip or whatever stupid clip has flown off leaving the wheel to roll off into the distance - when my Baja's up and running I'm definitely going to find a mod do away with those clips! (Either that or just buy a load of them for when the inevitable happens...) Is the nose bent to one side or is it just my eyes being stupid? jordanp
Is the nose bent to one side or is it just my eyes being stupid? i agree that chassis looks BENT Edited December 24, 2014 by Rover Man Censored swearing removed..RM
(-:AD:-)
Front of the chassis might be twisted. Front bulkhead parts either bent (if ally) or snapped if plastic. Maybe a bent shock shalf. And check ur steering servo works ok. I would much rather have the clip come off than the bolt pull through the hub. Get good quality extenders (darksoul) and use there C/E clips and they wont come off unless its a big bang. I had the stock set up and the clip came off alot, not the easiest to get back on either. Since changing its not popped off yet (2 or 3years ago)
Fg-Mart
Yeh its definitely bent ive stripped steering servo box out and cage. Best way to take the front end off ? Will get some quality axels for sure. And yes the servo is all good . Also the clip snapped. Hence the wheel escaping like you said ha Cheers
Fg-Mart
Ok stripped it As you can see. Chassis is bent/snapped. And alloy front upper plate is bent. So all in all i need a new chassis, upper plate and a new set of axels better ones of course
mark35
Is it snapped or just bent? If just bent you could prob save it.
Tug
Save it and fit IRC chassis brace?
(-:AD:-)
I wouldn't bend that back. Its at a funny angle and it will make it very weak.

(-:AD:-)
Kraken x3 or IRC. I snapped my hpi by two losi's driving into each front wheel from behind. I bent it and straighten out once though.
chewbacca
I've often wondered what side a badger dresses on..............................................
Noj
An HPI would have fared the same, even with the IRC brace.... New chassis and IRC underbrace time, hurrah!

Fg-Mart
Forsure mate. I thought it was gonna be a nightmare stripping it. Took me about 20 mins. I was thinking all the back end had to come apart ha. Anyways should be up and running by weekend. Managed to sort the bogging out to high speed needle just needed adjusting slightly. So thanks to everyone for help and advice on that to
jordanp
id invest in new chassis and upper brace
jordanp
i wouldn't chance straitening that unless you melt it down and recast the bugger :shockingscary:
mini-z-awd
for the axle to stop the wheel coming of you can buy the axles from a baja 5b flux as they dont use the e clips instead they use a screw and washer setup like this below or you can mod your own by cutting of the e clip peice off and get a long screw and a nut well that`s what i done with my baja http://www.ebay.com/itm/NO-e-CLIPS-MOD-Extended-Front-Wheel-Axle-Hex-Hub-HPI-Baja-5B-5T-SC-KM-Rovan-Silv-/170797558421 Edited December 24, 2014 by mini-z-awd
m4drx
Thicker top plate will certainly help but for now just hammer the plate flat and heat up and bend the chassis back. It will be slightly weaker but ultimately wont bend unless you crash again. Rather replace it then rather than replace now and bend a new lot. mini-z-awd
the chassis is basicly junk the screw hole in the bottom right of the pic is ovaled so it wont last long
Fg-Mart
Yeh thanks for the ideas but definetly going to get a new chassis. As for the c clips I know they are rubbish. But if it wasn't for that c clip would there be more damage ?
