hebby
Gearing.
Si Coe
Also 7.4V is 2S, so if you are running 2 you have 4S or 14.8V. However the really high speeds quoted for Vorza's are all running 6S (22.2v). So to get 80mph you'll need some new batteries - in this case 2x3S (11.1v). hebby
yeah ama buy some new batteries then...too bad i spent like 80 dollars on these 2 batteries lol There sill useable just not for high speeds
titaniumhobbie
There sill useable just not for high speeds right, so just to take off-road should i use the one that i have then?
hebby
right, so just to take off-road should i use the one that i have then? Yeah 4s is what most use on a 1/8th for bashing and 6s is for some good fun
titaniumhobbie
Yeah 4s is what most use on a 1/8th for bashing and 6s is for some good fun ok cool thanks and for gearing should i get smaller one for on-road action?
Tug
For on-Road you can gear up, so you fit a larger pinion. Or get a couple of 3s packs and then you can run 4, 5 or 6s. Just monitor your temps whenever you make any kind of change from stock.
fatboyneil
The vorza comes under geared as standard anyway so upping the pinion a couple of teeth won't hurt
big turbo
Stock gearing is 15/48 you can go up to a 19 pinny with stock 48 spur or fit the 46 spur and go up to a 21 pinny. As tug said buy some 3s packs so you can run 4,5 or 6s. 5s is a nice happy medium for on or off road 6s kills tyres and diffs!!

Jamb0
Although technically everything that has been said is correct, can I suggest that you don't bother trying to upgrade it when you're so new to the game. You firstly need to know your car inside-out, from how to strip it to separate parts for repair. And then you need to get a stockpile of cash so you always have enough money to buy spares; you might get away with
optimus
^^^What Jambo said^^^ 4s is quick enough for me and my hyper 7. 6s would be bananas. Here is my sons hyper after hitting a curb at around 30mph: CNC steering knuckle and hub gone. To be fair the steering knuckle already had damage to it and required a larger bolt than original. I've put a standard steering knuckle on it while I wait for a new CNC set to come from China. Edited December 22, 2014 by optimus

optimus
yeah my 7 is bonkers on 6s..and I did my hub yesterday aswell.... All it took was for him to hit the curb at the wrong angle so that all the load went through the front right wheel and it was over. Literally less than 5 mins runtime. I had a spare hub with me but not a spare hub carrier... Took ages to discharge that battery when we got in Edited December 22, 2014 by optimus

SamUk
Been thinking of this for a while for my vorza...What size pinion to go with the 4s batteries? Can I go 19/48 or 21/46? is this the one? any reason to get any 18 or 17 over the 19? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HPI-100918-PINION-GEAR-19-TOOTH-1M-5mm-SHAFT-Savage-Trophy-Vorza-FLUX-HP-/161834466995?hash=item25ae15feb3:g:eKYAAOSwFnFWAVe8 will be running with 4s batteries Edited January 16, 2016 by SamUk
RCpete
I would try 19/46, buy the hpi trophy buggy 46 tooth spur gear. Then through on a 19 tooth pinion. I run this on my HPI trophy buggy on a 2000kv hobbywing setup and it is proper quick for 4s anyway. I think 21/46 would run into temp problems if ran off road in the summer months at least.
