toddfg
Just got 10s and 12s batteries, problem is there are 2 balance leads but one set of charging leads, can I charge them safely and with a twin battery charger which is capable of 7s per channel ? Or do I need a new charger? or second option is to send them back and get another set of charging leads fitted and connect them in series. Here's a pic Cheers
Tug
Those are monsters! What are they in? Ah, an MCD, I've just noticed. What model?
toddfg
It's a v4 monster truck.
Noj
Tug is the charging guru; my thought is a dual balance board however that would require a charger with a single, 12s capable output, I think?
Tug
You'll need a charger that's compatible with the total cell count on a single port, unless you can split the pack across two ports? Suicideneil might know. Failing that, a helicopter forum might be of use, they work with high voltages. What ESC are you using? Any vid of it running or is it still under construction? DannyP
Failing that, a helicopter forum might be of use, they work with high voltages. My Goblin is 12s but run 2x 6s packs. Everyone at the club runs 2x 6s so I have no idea how you would go about charging it?.. Sorry.
DannyP
Send them back and buy 5s and 6s LiPo's. If a cell dies you loose an expensive pack. If one goes in a 5 or 6s then you can replace cheaper. One of the reasons we buy single 6s, keep crash costs down and pack share with other models. I have had a search and can't find an answer to your question but I think you are going to need a 12s capable charger for those packs?.... Again buying single 5 and 6s will save you buying a new charger.

Mines a twin charger with max 7s per channel

Will be an alien esc the batteries are also from alien, and on that power it's still under construction it's running 7s at the moment

That's what I was thinking, might send them back and get them converted to individuals, these are specially made to my battery box dimensions
Noj
I've never come across a 12s single channel charger myself, my current hyperions do 6s max per port (a bit weak, I know but hey ho ) I have always run split packs for the reasons outlined above, 3,4,5s in whatever configuration suits. Multiple packs are definitely the cheaper option.
toddfg
I've already got 4 7s batteries so can do 14s easily

I think alien do one but not sure I'll have to ask Bruno, just didn't fancy changing chargers as the fusion is a good bit of kit Gonna be a beast! Multiple packs are definitely the cheaper option. I'll get a video up once it's done, waiting on Bruno for a reply about motor and esc being in stock
