When I first started working on sites many years ago I saw the hod carriers stood around most of the day, then they all used to knock off at 3, and still earn very good money. That's for me I thought so said to my Dad who I worked with that I wanted to try it so he got one of the brickies to load me up a hod, matey said " carry that up the ladder and you have a job". Needless to say it ended with tears of laughter from everyone watching and me staggering around at the bottom of the ladder with the hod barely a inch off the floor!
