macgregor
After a year away. I'm getting a tt02 kit and need some help in choosing the right mods. I would like to make it brushless if it is not going to cost a fortune. ( I still have two bajas to keep ). Looking for mods to make the car more useable. Any suggestions welcome. Noj
Buy and fit 01e diff internals (metal over 02 plastic), an ally prop shaft, full bearing kit and some oil filled shocks as a bare minimum. After that, adjustable tie rods and other shiny parts are available, depending on what you intend doing with it. There will likely be a faster gear set available (as with the 01e) which you'll need for a bl set up. Cheap, bl combos can be had for around 50 quid; the latest, Quicrun set ups are very nice indeed, 60a wp ESC and two/four pole cans, depending on kV choice. As a point of note, there are ebayers who sell the kits w/o the stock, brushed ESC - handy if you plan on going bl immediately. You'll need specific sized lipos as well, the tray not being huge on the tamiya chassis'. Time to get googling/ebaying and see what parts are out there at what price. Asiatees may well be worth a look for ally parts...clearly, anything branded Tamiya will cost. A lot.
