tamiya TT-01, TT-02 different diff gear sizes

I run a TT02 with TT01 diffs, metal internals and boil the diff bevels to toughen them up a bit, took 7700kv no problem. If its a basher, keep as many plastic parts as standard, plastic has give, ally either snaps or bends so can throw out geometry. Tamiya's are bloody solid if set up right.

how do you boil the plastic to toughen it? and i just ordered this  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151452911073?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT i think i can put a 13t bevel gear in the front from traxxas  going by this thread http://forum.driftmission.com/Thread-rudeboys-tt01-drift-eagle hopefully it works :)

I boiled them twice until the water level dips below the gears then top it up then boil again the same way. Just shrinks the plastic a tiny bit as it contracts which toughens them up. That part you bought is for making a TT a countersteer drifter so the rear wheels spin up faster than the front to step the back end out easier, good for drifting, terrible if its going to be used as a car park basher.
