Storm 450 size helicopter with a ST-06TX , Gyro sensitivity issues

Hi, I have a storm 450 helicopter and it has a ST-06TX and I wonder if anyone can explain to me how the Gyro sensitivity pot on the transmitter works?

it seems to have a dead spot when in the recommended position of 2-3 o'clock (you move the tail and the gyro servo does not move) I don't want to fly it until I'm sure that its working correctly so any help would be appreciated.

From - (pot all the way ccw) up to 12 o'clock the tail servo is responsive and fast
12-2 o'clock the tail servo hardly moves, and at the 2 o'clock position it does not move at all?
after the 2 o'clock position the tail servo is un-responsive and slow.

these observations are from moving the tail from left to right to test the gyro function.

so the recommended position of the pot is in the 2 - 3 o'clock position, so is this correct? or is the - to 12 o'clock heading hold or something?

and its just a standard pot with markings - for fully ccw and + for fully cw.

Thanks in advance.
