agreed.

On a similar note has anyone noticed that Ebay no longer redirects you for your paypal password! (at leart on german ebay anyway).

You don't even enter your password at all!  massive breach of trust imo.

I wonder how long it is till we are using 'bitcoin'? whether directly or indirectly?

What's stopping someone whos owned a car for a few months just opening a claim after using it multiple times saying that's something is wrong with it? I think it should be max 30day after receiving the item.

Lets buy sweets eat them and open a claim and see what they say. Then use that if when we get scammed.

Stuff ebay ill work harder at bypassing them.

Yeah ebay app just pays for you ive perferred it tbh but at first did think is this as safe. Other sites are getting more traction now too but paypal is still king. For now ther are alternatives. Some are uk based.

Paypal screws you or something list's all alternative money services one sounds great

I only sell items that couldnt poss go faulty. Or they are collection only so they pay cash. I havent bothered with eBay or pp for some time. Its not worth the hassle.

Is it defo everyone or could it be buisness sellers of new items?

Im just completing a sale on a nitro engine i know is great but probably wont be in afew months or the first sign of issue a claim comes. Theyre has to be a saftey net. Or is ebay pulling down the bridge so they can rebuild it.

Unlimited free listings too i didnt see that coming something must be going on. Or they tried to encourage sellers and now trying to encourage buyers.

If it does only apply to professional ssellers especially ones who sell Chinese stuff that should have been seized at the port then happy days. Too many house fires cos of fake chargers ect.

Ebay (I hope to their ultimate cost) are not interested in the little seller. They are jealous of Amazon Marketplace and are after the volume "new" market. Decent competition to Ebay is long overdue.

in the early days ebay was a honest place.  people would send items even before the cheque was in the post.   but now almost everyone is out to rip someone off in some way.   and a lot of buyers seem to treat it as a proper online shop.

and a lot of buyers seem to treat it as a proper online shop.

But that is exactly what Ebay wants and what all their changes are geared towards.

This thread has been making me think twice about who i sell to lately, and when im asked to post the item to a different address which isnt on paypal i refuse to. Which i feel bad about tbh if it is causing hick ups because nobody will be home to sign for it.

But my fear is if i post an item to somebody without a signiture. A dishonest buyer could pretend it didnt arrive at my cost.

Or if i post to an addy passed over messages even having proof of postage and signiture, paypal wouldnt recognise it as posted to the buyer.

Either way it leaves the door open for a dispute ill probably lose. Am i doing the right thing or am i protected anyway?

Or if it was genuine could the buyer put a note in the transaction stating they want it sent to the new address provided.

If i sell to someone i think i can trust from here a known member ect ide take the chance but not on expensive items. But say if its that much to you ill accept pay as gift and follow their instructions. See if their willing then lol.

I had an ebay buyer last week do it too, he was talking about buying loads of stuff from me worth 100s and even offerd more money than i said. Alarm bells went off ther so i posted the first order to the letter of paypals rules and not chased it up for the other stuff. Which sold on here to a guy who also wanted me to just send it standard post or signed for at a different address.

I just wanted to protect myself and both buyers was great fast payment polite ect ect so i feel bad for not helping ease the sale for them and followed paypals rules.

Is that all i can do to protect my sales or is their more. I see myself as a great seller for great buyers i would like to avoid bad buyers at no cost to me lol.

never send to a different address  also never take a paypal payment if they collect the item from you.    and as you say it seems nasty  but we have to make sure we won't be conned.

Sending to a different address should never need to come up you can have multiple addresses with PayPal and you choose the one you want item sending to at point of ordering.

And if they want to collect you could refund the paypalland have them pay cash.

If not wanting to sort either or then you should be concerned
