Mad baja
I've decided to start getting back into rc cars. I picked up a hyper 8.5 the other month and decided that it required a bloody good clean. So apart it came. There was sand everywhere and it ended up being stripped to every nut and bolt. Along the way a few of the stock plastic parts were broken and bent shock towers. New heavy duty Ali parts were sourced. Also I decided that the .28 hyper Mach was a little small so fitted a axial .32 and supporting dynamite exhaust Hope you enjoy
Mad baja
Here's a photo of the car with no suspension. Will try and get a more upto date photo

RCbutcher
Is that a tank gaurd or do you plan it to make the actual fuel tank? If so that's cool not many attempt that. How will you do the lids and seals. Edited November 14, 2014 by RCbutcher
Mad baja
It's a new tank. It's all tacked together so I can trial fit it first. IM going to make the same spout as the orginal and going to taker he lid off the original tank
Mad baja
Trial fit completed. Requires a slightly larger notch to clear the exhaust bracket but clears everywhere else
Anthoop
It is nice when someone knows what they want and embarks on that journey with the skills they have... Good stuff MadBaja. Have fun.
J.K
Good work, kudos for attempting the tank fabrication! I'd be interested to see what your improved run times are like. You'll love the 8.5, there aren't quite as many spares floating around as the 7 but tracking them down is part of the fun
JayAVFC
Problem is the fuel might get hot with it being metal and therefore drink the fuel quicker, just a thought
Mad baja
There's going to be insulation on the exhaust side to try and prevent this from happening
JayAVFC
Good idea

Mad baja
Well after blowing my engine up 2 years ago I have done anything but over the last month I've finally run my rebuilt engine in and found out the new tank I made added too much weight to the one side of the buggy. Time for fuel tank mk2
