New engine contents

Hello, i just received my son's christmas (Schumacher picco x28) and on opening the box noticed that there was no collet screw to hold the clutchbell on, is this the norm with buying new engines (including no instructions) or are these items that have to be sourced ourselfs?

And if we have to source them, are they specific to the engine/model/maker or would any .28 collet and bell screw do?

Thank you

On a slightly related note, how much space is there to be between the flywheel and the crankcase?

And do you stop the collet from sliding back when trying to tighten the flywheel nut?

Thanks

For my application, I have 3 shims between the flywheel and engine. And that gives me a perfect alignment with the spur gears.

Shimming also allows the collet to press against when tightening up the clutch nut.
