Hyper 7 Mach 28 Not firing

Recommended Posts

Hello, Could someone help. I have purchased a second hand Hyper 7 Mach 28 6-port and it refuses to even fire. Checked carb at factory settings and the plug is 'crackling' so sure its not that. I cannot even get it to splutter or show any signs of firing..not even a 'pop' Have put fuel direct into carb so sure its reaching the engine. Good compression as its a little used buggy. Tried preheating engine  with no effect.

Any help appreciated as I have run glow engines on model planes for years so am familiar with helping ahrd to start engines get going..usually!!!!

Thanks, David

I had a similar problem once......i found it to be fuel starvation...........remove the fuel line that goes into the carb......Undo the carb nozzle & remove.............Check the holes are lined up with the nozzle & the the jet.........while it's apart, give both bits a soak in petril/nitro & give them a good blow through the holes........it cured my problem..........

Hello, Now had the model shop look at it and they cannot get it to fire either. They have checked fuel delivery and carb and its getting fuel OK.

. At a loss as what to do and may have to sell it for spares/repair!!!

Is the throttle gap around 1mm? Advancing the throttle trim or having a wider gap may help for starting.

Set the head of the LSN (black one where throttle attaches) so that it is around 0.5 mm proud of surround....the brass screw opposite should be flush....the HSN setting (screw stood up in brass housing where fuel nipple attaches) will not really matter for starting but around 3.5 turns from closed will be fine as a minimum for starting.

Is the plug wet after you have primed and tried to start for 5-10 pulls?

What plug is it and have you tried another?
