Hi just to update I took my buggy in today and purchased a few bits, a rechargeable battery pack and charger and a new etronix pulse radio 2.4 system with sticks as I wasnt keen on the wheel control so I have my fail safe built in with that.

I have a few newbie questions mind lol...

I have my pack on charge at 120 its a 1500 is this low enough or should I drop it to 80? Or even 50 for now?

The fuel used with my buggy is RACE PREP by Model technics at 25% are there anything I need to be aware of while using this ?

And also I've noticed my car seems to want to go forward on its own accord during bashing only slightly but not when idle...it seems to roll a foot or two perhaps when I release the brake is this normal?

And finally the buggy seems to increase in performance and speed after warming up is this normal.

Im sorry if these seem really stupid to ask or obvious but I'm just covering all that I've noticed or unsure of.

Thank you kris

charge a 1500mah battery at no more than 1.5amp but its best to charge at 1amp.

whatever the battery mah is never charge over the first numbers. But that's max amps faster charge times but shorter overall life expectancy.

2000mah battery 2.0amps

3500mah battery 3.5amps

halving the max amps will keep the battery going for longer tho. but take longer to charge.

Idk what you mean about 120 , 80 or 50 tho mate but hope that helps.

Car lurching forwards could be its warmed up and increased the idel speed

You could turn it down a touch if you wanted to.

Or check the radio throttle trim is set to 0% first.

More power whem warm is ok but warming it before running is better especially in the colder months.

A good tip is take your glow plug out spin the fly wheel until the piston is sitting at its lowest point. The put a blob of nail varnish on the fly wheel.

Then when youve finished running you can put the fly wheel to show the blob in the same place you marked (from below is best)

Then when the engine cools down it wont contrapt around the piston and keep the sleeve compression longer.

Simple tip but great.

Hi RCbutcher, thank you for your detailed and helpful response

...the nail varnish is a great idea indeed I'll have to find a nice colour match mind lmao. As for the numbers 50,80,120 etc I have a charger with a key so I can adjust the power used to charge up my rechargeables.
