Rallyestefan
I am wanting to race 1/10th 4wd mod class and wanted to know the best rated motor to get? I was told the lower turn rate the better. And would a 10.5 turn be in that class or stock class?? Please help
Si Coe
Very few places in the UK race stock - 10.5t would one type of 'stock' though some have 13.5t etc. For a 4wd buggy typical motors are in the 5.5-6.5t region with most favoring 6.5t now. But thats for outdoors on a big grippy astroturf track. On a smaller, or more slippery track those motors are too powerful and people actually go quicker using less powerful motors. As a new racer, a 10.5t motor would be a great starting point - you'll be slower down the straight than some other drivers but because you can control the car better in the infield (which makes up far more of the lap than the straight) you'll be quicker overall. Faster is not always quicker.
