capri-boy
I've a STS.28 avail - it's bn never used. Bought for my savage, it's pullstart but you'll need to find the 4 little screws that hold the pullstart on as I've lost them (took off to see if I could use a diff roto back plate.) Beast of a torquey engine, plenty of change from your budget. http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/topic/199003-sts28-d28m-nib-fs-swap-reduced-pic-heavy/?hl=d28m

jordan_bench10
The 28 is tbh a pretty rubbish engine all my force engines have been broke in properly and popped the rods by the time the 3 gallons come id suggest svaing a bit more mate honestly
scrumpy jack
Okay, thats interesting as I thought force engines were a good solid choice. What about Axial or SH anyone know what those are like? Really dont want to spend over

scrumpy jack
Believe me i would love to put in an LRP but really is out of my budget. I will have a good hunt about to see if I can get one of those engines cheeper, never know may get lucky! Thanks for the input chaps. Nitroholic
There was a spate of Force .28 motors with bad conrods..... but they are not all bad. Rebadged versions sit in a whole lot of RTR trucks, including HPI. The Savage XL runs a rebadged Force 5.9 motor I would consider the Force .32 though. Ran one for a while in my Savage and it's been fine.
scrumpy jack
Is it worth going for say a .32 rather than a smaller capacity , as Im not running stupidly large wheels on the lst and its not that heavy..reason I ask is I think I could stretch my budget to about 120-130 and looks like I could get a lrp .28 for that sort of cash. atom3624
I bought my ZR32 from Scandinavia, somewhere, I think .... ??? ..... for ~130 so it is possible. That was 3 years ago. Al.
Nitroholic
If you can stretch to the LRP .... do it. The LRP .28 is a better quality engine, and will probably give more power anyway. My Savvy is running thicker TVPs, Big Joes, ally upgrades, and truth be told, is a bit of a porker If you can afford a good quality engine, it works out cheaper in the long run in my view. It will outlast the cheaper engines if well cared for.

That's what my thoughts are as well, I'm also keen on getting a new pipe for it, but the lst will need the angled header as the engine is side mounted...any idea on where to look, as I can't seem to find many in that configuration except the original Dynamite ones. I couls use the old one, but it's pretty battered and if i'm going to spend out on a shiny new engine it would be nice to have a shiny pipe to go with it! atom3624
That's a good price. Is it the pullstart / rotostart one - there are 2 models - one doesn't have this on, made for buggies using a starter box? Al.
