Always wanted a Z car, other than rotaries its the car i must own to cherish.

Trying to find a model kit was incredibly difficult, revell released one in the 70's and then again in the early 2000's finding either was hard, managed to however win one from the 70's on ebay, happy days!

So got cracking on the body which will be yellow :)

i wont include silly pictures of box art etc, cant be bothered.

Edit: Snag fixed! main chassis finishes off the gap, no dramas   :xd:

Will allow primer to harden overnight, sand down some spots and then start my colour coats :D

Begun to put the colour coats on

trying humbrol acrylic spray, gloss yellow this time round, its a nice shade and what i wanted, but i dont like it compared to tamiya synthetic lacquers, not as easy to control and now have to correct some paint runs on the bonnet :/ ...oh well

also glued the engine block together and getting its pieces ready, loads of the engine parts are chrome plated which in my opinion looks dumb so will be bleaching the chrome off those once ive finished the body and letting it cure for a week.

indeed

..i ended up changing the colour of the oil filter to a darker blue, looks more realistic and cut the strange nobbles that were on the end of em off and rounded it, also cut the spark plug nobbles too so i could put wire on the end of em at a later date.

also put the sump on

Tadaaa, bleached! no more ugly chrome, good thing with bleach is doesnt melt the plastic or any detail.

letting em dry for a hour then ill get em in primer and paint er up, will finish the engine block today me thinks

Age of this kit is starting to show.

some weird instructions wanting you to do things that dont exist or even contemplate scratch building, plastics arent great either lol

...definitely the hardest kit ive done thus far...the retooled one that came out in the 2000's is very different as ive found out looking at pics.

oh well.. all most there!

pretty much finished

need to compound n polish the body and thats about it

this will be my last static model kit, and this was just utterly awful. was more of a chore than an activity of enjoyment
