turok007
ok im serious about this. i don't think any good games have been released in about the last 10 years. im really fed up with games getting easier or games with a cut scene every few seconds or the camera pointing to a hidden object. and the worst offender is games that have been made to look & act life like but they just fail badly i cannot be the only one who thinks this. i remember playing all the tomb raiders up to no5 on the PS1 and when TR LEGEND was released i went out and got the PS2 well within 5 minutes the game was put back in the case and has never been played again. and what i mean about life like is i don't care about pixels it's just the way games act and look now days. Madmini
I think this is really subjective. I still enjoy playing masters of orion2. That's got to be nearly 15 years old now. But on the flip side I'm really enjoying the remake of ufo enemy unknown. I also really enjoyed american mcgees Alice, and the later Alice madness returns. So what kinds things do you like in a game? turok007
i sort of like all games i got the PS3 just for GTA5 but it is all show and no go. lol i dragged out my PS2 and my N64 with around 150 games between them. and the kids love the N64 . all company's want to do today is fancy looking games with plenty of online options. when halo came out people were going mad over it. but i didn't think it was anything special. Anthoop
Definitely hard to know what you are asking for..... There are more games and ways to play those games today then there ever was before....there are old games and new games from big and small developers...and everything in between... jp79er
Masters of Orion 2...such a legendry game...nothing beats and old classic. Elite 2 Frontiers is still awesome and all remakes get tedious very quickly. Other classics is still play today are UFO Enemy Unknown, and Dune 2, Doom, Double Dragon, even Street Fighter 2 and Mortal Kombat makes me smile when I play them...FINISH HIM I have an excellent SNES emulator I use on my tablet which is great for the old coin op classics, which bring back good memories.... Bring back the gaming days of the DX400 100mhz, and Pentium 1's....that when games were all about playing...and weren't worried about making it look like high end action movies... But on my tablet I always return to Real Racing 3..its free it not pertinacious and it great and TBH always felt like and old friend as it reminds me gameplay wise of Gran Turismo 2/3. I gave up on consoles after the PS2......I have a XB360 which the kid occasionally play it, nearly traded it for XB ONE but then when it came to it I just couldn't be bothered, games were all the same but in even higher definition....The games never seemed to have the gameplay that kept me happy for long....mind you long gone my days starting a GT endurance race at midnight after the pub, only to wake up with car going nuts in the Armco...lol Edited October 7, 2014 by jp79er
barnestah
The Game I have gone back to play again and again and again is F.E.A.R & F.E.A.R Extraction point on Pc tho, but its quite old now and will run well on any newish laptop or half decent desktop. In fact I am tempted to re-install it now and play it. And Projects Cars. but that's not finished yet.
jp79er
Might bite the bullet next year and get a next gen console as Project cars looks awesome. Currently got forza horizon 2 but on the 360 but feel paved as they are not bringing out DLC content for the 360. But the big question is that I have no loyalty to either XB1 or PS4 ...but can't decide which to get.... PS4 I think as it's has the best potential. Posted by me ???? Ewan.Mackay
Not had a chance to read through all the posts yet but if noone else has suggested it, try sniper elite 3. Yeah theres a few cut scenes but theyre just short and give you an idea of what the missions are about. You have a choice of 4 I believe (cant remember) difficulties and missions on the harder difficulties can take quite a bit of time to complete. But its good fun and pretty brutal

There is nothing on next generation consoles that is grabbing me yet....no doubt by the time they get it together the consoles will be cheaper. (I have both PS3 and 360). If I had to make a choice today I would choose PS. Not sure what kind of driving games you are after...but the best (for me) are on PC and played with a wheel...if you have never tried LFS then I recommend it. I had two sessions of more than twenty hours....now I loath to even put the disc in... Edited December 18, 2014 by Anthoop

As for car games there is not much I haven't played, I have been with NFS, Gran Turismo since they started....never got in to forza until the 360 with 3, 4 and now horizon 2. Drive club, and project cars look great. Not fussed on GT6 or forza 5 ATM....but GT7 I hope brings promise when they decide to announce it's release and mega car lists (the main thing I like on the GT series).... I struggle sitting at a PC to play car games especially TBH, I just like the console and relaxed in front of the tv. Posted by me ???? danny boy
No need to have a PC hooked up on a desk. I used to have mine behind the TV and play from the couch as I would for my play station (PS1). Even hooked up my radio for my rc cars to play driving games. If you do look at live for speed also have a look at Assetto corsa. Looks stunning and drives spot on from what I can tell. Still an unfinished product but that isn't affecting me right now. humperdingle
GTA 5 on the PS4 is pretty amazing. The games 3 or 4 years down the line will be something to look forward to
RCbutcher
Try fallout 3 game of the year edition. set it to hard and play away. seriously that game is the best ive played the nukes have wiped the planet out. life is grim mutants are plenty. Supplies are hard to find at first the map is huge sometimes too big seriously. over loaded with loot ylu dont want to lose means walking all the way to camps. Fallout 4 game of the year, much better in the items and other things in the game, hardcore mode is pretty hardcore too. Keep hydrated rest ect but guns have mods , ammo types from ap rounds to explosive. But fallout 4 world is much brighter than 3 and i liked the grim world of 3 both games must be around

MAZ
A friend of mine showed me a PC game coming out called Star Citizen - it looks amazing... To the point where I might just learn how to build a PC so I can play it when it comes out - looks like you'll need a decent spec PC to play it as well

CyclingSalmon14
To the point where I might just learn how to build a PC so I can play it when it comes out Don't sweat it, its far easier than people make out, basicly just adult Lego you don't have to actually build anything and there are some very very good easy and detailed guides on YouTube now also. Its all just a plug and play tbh, and everything is pretty durable so even ESD is not an issue. (Just ground yourself every now and again and or work on a wood surface) I did a MB swap last night in tracky bottems on a carpet floor and it still works lol. The hard part is learning about the parts and spec and then deciding what you want and buying it all. After that its easy. GoodLuck!
