Anyone give me a quick review on the savage xs, are they worth it and are they strong? Been looking for a replacement for my Schumacher rascal but I'm stuck on what to pick, I want to dabble in more electrical models since I got my super quick savage flux :)

Buy one, beat it, break it, beat it some more and break it some more, had one sold it just got another has to be one of the best mini's on the market, yes it has a few spots may need looking into and some things will get on your nerves but hey ho thats life !!

Read the thread mini-z-awd linked to its more than enough help and info to persuade you! just look how many of us had one sold it and got another !!

I have had an RTR one for two years and beat the snot out of it and neglected it and it's still kicking ha, they take whatever you can throw at them and come back begging for more! I have broken a rear hub and the diffs have been replaced once along with the dogbones/axles!

I would recommend it to anyone

I had the opposite experience. I have bought/built/driven a lot of cars/trucks, the XS was one of the worst.

The quality of the kit version (ss) was very poor, the materials used were low quality, the fit and finish was the worst I have seen in any kit. I have a thread on here somewhere highlighting all the bad bits. The driveshafts and cups are of very low quality, on 3s the wear was astronomical. I was lucky to get a full pack through it without sheering a pin from a driveshaft/propshaft. The slop in the drivetrain was biblical, the drive cups flop in and out of the diffs by about 5mm, the gear meshs were bad, the chassis sides didnt line up properly and had an extra hole on one side and not the other, the drive hex pins were too small, the clutch undoes whenever it likes. The hinge pins are 3mm and the holes in the wishbones are 3.2 (1/8th imperial) the list goes on and on. I fixed as many of the problems as I could before giving up. The truck is meant for ligh use on 2s only.

found it!
