What Nitro Shall I Buy

Hi All,

newby question, I had Tamiya cars when I was little, now it's my children's turn and I would like to start them off on a Nitro car and join a local club.

Christmas is coming and it's the ideal opportunity to get a Nitro rc car.

Question, what to buy ?

I want to spend upto 300pounds on a kit including the radio etc

I'd like to get something for offroad courses, something like the HPI Bullet:

http://www.hpiracing.co.uk/piw.php?partNo=107004

but... I've been reading reviews and they seem to be saying the parts quality on the HPI Bullet is not very high.

So, the question, if I want something like the HPI Bullet, and want to spend upto 300quid on the set, what to get, in that class, what is the best ?

And if anybody's got experience and thinks the HPI Bullet is great then I am interested to hear that too.

Thanks in advance,

Andy.

These are good fun and a great price http://www.jemodels.com/index.php?app=gbu0&ns=prodshow&ref=TT-6228-F102

or how about a 1/8 buggy like http://www.modelsport.co.uk/hong-nor-x3-sabre-rtr-nitro-buggy-2.4ghz-.28-nitro-engine/rc-car-products/384041

the hong nor buggy comes with a 6v battery and charger and is a fantastic buggy very strong i doubt very much you'll brake anything but plenty of spares if you do .

also http://www.modelsport.co.uk/hobao-hyper-7-tq2-rtr-.21-3-port-edition/rc-car-products/367610   are great

question,

what temperature can the servo's etc work in ?

I remember my Tamiya Hornet the servos used to lock up and wouldn't work in the cold and snow.

Can you drive these things in the snow, let 's say, down to minus 10 ?

Could be cold at Christmas

it depends if your servos are waterproof if so its the radio box and the airfilter you need to watch out for with the snow

id suggest heating the engine up before you start it as the cold would really effect starting
