See that's set up for nitro, I want a kit without all the nitro bits, like the SSE truggy roller, but not built already.

If I bought that ST Pro kit wouldn't I need to chuck some of I then source motor mounts and radio trays etc, don't really like the idea of hacking up a brand new kit.

Yes you will have to buy a conversion kit for the Hyper Pro.

If you want to build a straight electric truggy kit you will have to look for a more high end kit Serpent??? Durango, Tekno, Associated etc

The ST pro kit does come aimed at nitro but, as it is a kit you do not have to add all of the nitro parts.

If you buy the Absima conversion kit for the Hyper 8 then this kit is a direct fit on the ST chassis...no drilling or modification is required.

However, for a better setup using a stronger and more adaptable battery tray you want to buy the Losi 8 battery tray which requires 1 hole to be drilled in the chassis but if you take your time and do it properly there is no reason why it cannot look like a factory finish.....that is what I went for and i think that my conversion has turned out well on my ST.

If you want a super strong electric ready truggy then you need to spend mega bucks conpared to the ST on something like the Agama or the Serpent....if you want the best of both worlds ie, value for money and strength then the ST is the only way to go I am afraid.

Further to the above, you can sell all of the nitro bits supplied with the kit and recoup some of your money....the tuned pipe can fetch decent money aswell as the clutch bell/clutch shoes/flywheel assembly. By the time you have sold your bits you essentially have the rolling chassis for less than

  • 3 weeks later...

Team c is ansmann.

The t8t is the racing one as the torch is cheaper and the parts arent as good.

Parts are getting harder to get but asia tees has loads.

Have raced them , bashed em and smashed em..

Cracking reliable truggy..

Hyper st weighs about the same weight as me diesel lump.. solid though..and parts ten a penny..

Yes I did want a nitro had a look of a team c truggy in wheelspin models next to the ansmann and the hpi truggy and to be fair for the money the hpi one still would of needed a few upgrades like servos so for the price I don't think there worth it the the ansmann virus looks great for the money but hasn't been around for that long but the team c has wider stance than the other two thicker shock towers and is well laid out in general and with a few choice bits like engine radio and some good servos plus attention to detail when building shocks and diffs I think overall this would end up a very capable truggy but thanks for all the replies

The virus has been around for ages both the team c and the ansmann are fairly short on parts support so be warned !!.. Both of these models are aimed more to a cheap start up into the hobby so i wouldn't expect to much from them but if your just a weekend blaster then both will be fine for a while

Personally if it was me and i had the motor id not give it a second thought and go for the Hyper ST pro it will far out perform any of the ones you looked at .. Dont take any notice of the motor it comes without one !!
