I would imagine the motor mount is the same, I've changed 3 models from Brushed to Brushless and had no problems.

As for a combo I recommend:

and

http://www.modelsport.co.uk/ftx-vantage-carnage-550-brushed-motor/rc-car-products/369466

I had this combo in my Carnage before I converted it, it's now in my Vandal and it's a cracking pairing. The speedo can handle 2s Lipo as well as 7.2v Nihm packs.

How about using a Tx with EPA?  That way you can adjust the speed to his level and ramp it up as his skill set improves?

My little un soon mastered 27T brushed speeds in his TC, 21T won't be much longer till he's outgrown that as well.

Thanks guys and madmini for sorting me the bits  .Now does anyone know the stock gearing?I keep reading different sizes.I am going to run it with summit wheels and tires so I will drop a couple of teeth on the pinion but need to find the correct sizes first.

18 over 55 gives slower punch but higher top end.

what your aiming to to is have lots of torque but not alot of rpm,

try a 18/55 and have a 16 and 15 tooth ready incase.

i would buy a few pinions so you can adjust the car as he get older and as you upgrade motor to

Thanks. So I got it the wrong way round.I am really bad with numbers. You are rite.I want the torque to help with the bigger tyres and I am not worried about top speed at this point.Looks like I am going to stick with the 18th pinion I already have as you cant get a 16th in this shaft size. The newer brushed mervs have 550 sized motors with a bigger shaft size.
