Speed test

Well today was a nice day out so car in hand and my 3S LiPO fully charged....I set out to se what the speed difference is from my NiMH..

Now I know that my NiMH's on Concrete will max out at 28mph..........which is fun....

But today was the ultimate test....so after getting the car up and running for about 5mins...making sure it was running fine...I then strapped my phone as my Data logger (which recorded the above speed) and set out with few fast passes on Grass (Avoided the hard stuff for the moment) and I was pleasantly pleased with the results:

39.1mph....and plenty of wheelie popping....and great fun

that always foxes me.....I keep thinking 3c for 3 `C'ells.....what does the `s` actually mean?

Any way onward and upwards......next get over 40, but think running on tarmac should see that I reckon....if so next stop 45mph

1S1P is one cell.

1S2P is two cells in parallel.

2S1P is two cells in series.

2S2P is four cells, two cells in parallel connected to another two cells in parallel, but the two sets are joined in series. So despite having four cells in total, it's still only a 2S pack.

Why not enter your car in the next ROSSA speed event and make your speed official!. Check out www.rossa.org.uk for details

ROSSA

Officially Fast

Cheers

I think mine will come under open wheel electric class...........121.96mph......think my current truggy will disintegrate at that speed...LOL...but would be fun trying though....

90mm tyre dia. is a bit stingy for buggies and truggies....should be 4" IMO....

But change the following:

22t  to 24t Pinion

3065kv to a 4500kv

6c battery

and try and fine 50mm x 90mm on a 2.2 rim that will be tough....

and my theoretical is 131.8mph.......

Just out of curiosity, why did you choose Li-ion?

Was given a box of used cells from work, they replaced every handheld scanner battery knowing that there was lots of good ones still in circulation. Otherwise I would have brought Li-Po. I use them in my nitro's, 5ive and Flysky TX
