I'm going to invest in Fatshark FPV goggles but whats the difference ? There are quiet a few out there but do they all do the same?

I wear glasses for reading but not for driving if that makes sense,(I'm long sighted) and was wondering if I do get a set will they be any good to me?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure for deffo but most of the fatsharks come with (diopic?) little slides that I presume adjust for different vision.

The difference in goggles is 3-fold. 1)FOV - field of vision - this is how wide the picture in front of your eyes appears. I think it's explained as smallest FOV is like watching a widescreen tv in your lounge with the lights off. Next one up is like being in a cinema and so on. I didn't really get it til I looked through some then you understand it. I've got teleporters and it is similar to watching a 40" screen from about 6 foot away. 2) The other difference is pixel count. Probably don't need to explain resolution to you! 3) Whether or not they have head tracking or can accept the tracker module. For this you'll need a gimbal  mount for the camera with servos and also plug the head tracker into your tx I believe. Not really entry level. I'm still tempted to try a 1 or 2 axis gimbal for mine with the gimbal sevos plugged into ch 5&6 which have dial adjustments. I could then look up/down/left/right but would have to take my hand soff the control which isn't ideal when wearing goggles!!

There are other goggles out there, have a look on rcgroups, they have a whole FPV section including FS section but most people are in the US and only ship within their own borders.

i have the predator v2 and teleporter v3 i think it is.  the porter has a bigger screen  but the preds have a better picture.  and you don't really need to get the better versions unless you really want to see fantastic detail.  but considering you will be flying you won't be really watching for the smallest detail.  lol

Both the tele's and preds are 25 FOV? Attitudes are 35 I think and there were some old base's that were 45 but newer one's are around 35 iirc. DomHD's are the one's to get but expensive and seem to be in short supply.

Just found the comparison chart on here, bottom right:

I have the attitudes and they are pretty nice, only a recent purchase, used them twice.

The head tracking gets a little confusing so i'm gonna confine that to looking around when im in loiter mode.

Resolution wise they are ok, better than bad not as good as excellent, easy enough to fly on atleast.

I'd say for a starter set decide your budget then the goggles get the best within your budget as you get what you pay for, on the one hand you dont want to upgrade after 5 minutes of owning them because its just money burnt but on the other hand you could decide it isnt for you ad never use them.

I bought the attitudes because i could afford them and they had a wider FOV than the predetors but the preds were strong competitors if by budget sank a little.

i have them.  and don't take the word of one review.  as anything can distort the signal.   also all fatsharks use the same make receiver and transmitter.

Cheers. So whats your verdict? What type of range are you getting and whats the picture like? Are they worth the money?

range is down to a lot of things.   and the spotter......   so you really have to see what works best for you. and your area   but  getting a set of clover leafs with everything pointing in the right direction will be a big help.
