coxy944
Hi guys My names Jack and I'm looking into taking rc cars up as a hobby my brother in law has had many cars I've played with nitro and brushless and I'm not sure what i want, I'd love a nitro as its something to "tinker" with to get running right but i want to be able to just pick it up and play so i think I'm contradicting myself a bit. I have found a few cars i have my eyes on and any guidance/advice/reviews would be great Im looking at the FTX Vantage Brushless Buggy or a Thunder tiger tomahawk ST. I would love a car that i can buy uprated parts for to make it stronger and I have read that there isn't many for the tomahawk but cant find an answer for the FTX. Thanks Jack
chewbacca
Welcome fella. I have the FTX Carnage Truggy and the Quanum Vandal which is a clone of the FTX Vantage. They're both lots of fun, relatively bombproof and easy to get spares for. Carnage as was ^^^^^^^ Carnage as is ^^^^^^^^

coxy944
Thanks for the welcome guys, I have decided that I'm not going to go brushless because of the lipo batteries i can't risk them catching fire so I'm now looking into nitro and have found the HPI firestorm, anybody have any opinions on this ? chewbacca
Lipo batteries are fine if handled correctly. In fact, mine are not handled entirely correctly and so far I've only had slight puffing on one pack. I was wary of BL and Lipo but since my first BL conversion I'm well and truly hooked.
