steering servo very slow

RC2013

Recommended Posts

Hello

I have a fg marder 23cc and most recently the steering servo has begun to give up. When turning right it wont respond. I can hear it trying. Left turns but weak. Charged the battery and the throttle servo seems very lively so thinking the battery is good.

Any ideas??

Thank you

Definitely follow Mike!!

CAREFULLY - don't strip the gears - unscrew the retaining screw in the servo and GENTLY lever off the servo arm.

With the servo disconnected, feel how free moving the steering mechanism is.

ALSO ...

Power up, without the gear connected, and see how the servo moves under power; left, right, left ...

This should give you some ideas.

It might be the battery.

It might be the servo.

It might be the linkage ...

Gears may be worn / jammed.

Depending on servo, you can get replacement gear kits.

Might want to consider a more powerful servo.

How was the steering - free moving when not connected to the servo?

The above is making me feel better about the ts700 it looks very similar to the hv one but not the same. but aslong as it's fairly reliable ill be happy.

Is the horn size big on them like 8mm ish.
