Hex drivers?

Would anyone know the best Hex tool kit I would need for the HPI Trophy? I have looked at a lot of kits but have no clue which one I need to get, cost is irrelevant.

My vote is for Arrowmax, very good and great value for money.

I have to say, I am steering towards arrowmax, they have some really nice kits available, not bad on the eyeballs either.

 

Are all the kits the same in the RC car range? as in same hex sizes etc. That is the part that is confusing.

I use EDS for the house but wen out bashing I use the Fastrax ones that fit into the handle.

Recently got some eds's, very nice, lets see how durable they are

 

Managed to pull out some stripped screws in which regular (not cheap but not rc grade) driver was no good

Not sure on longevity but I recently bought a halfords 'professional' multi-attachment driver set. Wouldn't touch their standard stuff but for 17 quid thought I'd try it. Have to say, so far, it's doing pretty well. Holding up against everything I've thrown at it and handily comes with star drives as well for those stubborn stripped screws. We'll see how long it lasts!! Quite why it needs 6+ flathead attachments I don't know.

Most sets will include the 4 you will use the most:

 

3mm

2.5mm

2mm

1.5mm

 

On a 1/8 buggy that and a small screwdriver and a couple of small sized sockets/spanners will do everything.

 

I have a set of Arrowmax drivers which have been very good so far. I also have a 1/4" drive socket set, which covers everything else I need, including screwdriver bits. 4mm, 5, 5.5, 6, 7 and 8mm sockets are the ones to look for.

1/10 is also covered by those sizes

 

Screws that are threadlocked to death (for example in rtr stuff) need preheating to loosen the threadlock

 

Just today had a figth with the 2mm grubscrew from a 5mm-shaft pinion. With a cheap hex I would have stripped it.

I think we have a winner. Yes I am purely picking out of looks, don't judge me, They make me moist. I might get an extra set just for display lol

If you have the money to waste...er...spend ...fine It's your cash.

 

The cooking Arrowmax hex set is half the price and just as good. Lots of useful things you could spend the money you saved on as well.

The Mrs always said I never had any sense, no point breaking the habit now.

 

I cant find any drivers with that description, do you have a link to them?

 

2 years ago I was a solid fit person, now I am reduced to needing a walking stick and mobility scooter after being smacked down with a nerve disorder out of the blue, I don't have the dosh to waste, I just don't give a tiny rats ass about money even though I don't have a lot of it, Life is far too short and you don't know when you are going to get a bite in the ass, so now and then I like to spoil myself even if the mrs is going to flip out for paying that much for some "Stupid screwdrivers".

 

 

EDIT : NVM, going to have to put this on hold as my steering servo just fried itself, cheaper option may be the choice for now.
