Savage x or savage xl

Since getting my txt 1 and upgrading it iv rekindled my love of rc, I'm now very tempted to get a nitro as havnt had one since I was a kid. The txt is great but I'd also like something that goes like stink and makes a good old racket doing it. From what iv seen the savages look cool, people seem keen on the Losi and thunder tiger but i really like the savage for some reason. But what's better the x or the xl? Iv seen an xl for

It won't go like stink with that 4.1 engine in

You want either but look for originality with a few tasty mods

you want a clean example not something that's been thrashed within an inch of its life like some have

you may be better bud getting for an engine if you buy the xl

look at the lrp 28/30

When I say go like stink I'd like sort of 40 or 50?? Something that's fast enough to keep me interested but not too technical that I can learn on it easy enough. Think the one I'm looking at has a tank convention so it sits in the front of the chassis rather than over the side and some beefy shocks and couple other little bits

Thank you Neil very helpful, I know nothing much either so you post was exactly sort of thing I was hoping for, I dint want to end up with a heap of *hit but sounds like I would have if you hadn't said. Main reason I liked that one is tank being moved to the centre, but I'm sure that's something I could do anyway

I put a best offer on the other one that was suggested but the guy said was too low so gona wait and see what else comes up. "Boost bottles" does sound rather gimmicky, was just the fuel tank that appealed to me, seems bizarre to have a fuel tank stuck on the side, can't help the weight distribution
