As money is tight and I don't know the first thing about flying I'm looking at the hubsan x4. However there seems to be a number of different models and I don't know which one to go for. Nope many crashes later and I can now hover without crashing into the ceiling or the telly. Woo hoo. Mine came with the guard so didn't have to buy one thankfully. Just need to practise now. Will get some batteries next month when I have some more spare cash.
