TMaxxDave
Hey all, just thought i'd post a few pics up of my TB-01 I've had this from new in 2001, it started life with Focus shell, and has had many others over the years, as you can see its currently rocking an Impreza shell which i got in 2000 on other car, a prebuilt rtr one. when that died, i stole the shell for this. Its running a couple of mods, nothing too serious. Alloy front shocks Alloy prop Alloy motor mount Alloy front wishbone mount Team Mtroniks 11x2 Viper RV11 ESC Forwards and Reverse Reflex Wheels Pro 2 Reciever 2.4ghz Deans battery connectors as i melted the tamiya one I'll get some better pics later, i've never really taken pics of my RC cars.

TMaxxDave
Thanks mate, i'm torn between spending money on this and spending money on my 'new' TMaxx
tonysmini
Nice, I have a soft spot for TB01's, I have four in various guises. Alloy steering is the only thing you need now. After that the long arm set and your there.
TMaxxDave
What alloy steering mate? And long arms? To widen the track? Have you got pics of these items? Sorry for all the questions
tonysmini
Tamiya did a set of alloy steering arms to replace the plastic ones and the step screws on the chassis, gets rid of the excess play. Search for TG10 steering, the nitro car the TB was based on. The long arm kit is the same width as stock, it just moves the pivot point for the outer hubs further out, allowing the suspension to work better. It came as stock on the TB-Evo kit for racing. Hard to find, costs between Edited August 14, 2014 by tonysmini
TMaxxDave
Quite fancy the sound of alloy steering arms, don't think I could justify more than
tonysmini
Just some of the bodies mine have worn over the years. The Focus has the wide arm kit fitted, the others are mostly stock. Edited August 14, 2014 by tonysmini

tonysmini
I have a thing for rally cars, and I may as well have a good chassis for them. I also have an HPI RS4 Rally with a Focus and Scooby shell, two Mini's, a WRC Fabia on an M03, a Metro 6R4 and a 97 Scooby on TA03's, a Bowler Wildcat to go on another TB01 once I get a few more parts. My wife keeps counting them and tutting when she finds a new one. Edited August 14, 2014 by tonysmini
TMaxxDave
Fair one mate, just took mine out for a bash tonight, and one battery is completely dead, as in not holding charge, and the other just wasn't charged :-(
tonysmini
Are they are nicad or Nimh? you can usually bring them back with a few good cycle charges. Just don 't run the Nimh totally flat as they may die completely. Edited August 14, 2014 by tonysmini
TMaxxDave
One is nicad and one is Nimh, the nicad has died, I've had it since new in 2001
tonysmini
Probably past it's best then. I run Core RC Nimh 4000mah in mine, or Lipo if I fancy a bit more speed.
TMaxxDave
Can you charge lipos on a Nimh charger?
tonysmini
No, but a cheap Accucell 6 from hobbyking will charge everything.

TMaxxDave
Finally got round to taking it out with the 4600nihm battery, made a massive difference, shame I killed the Rx in the process, it didn't agree with the puddle and water.... rcrallyuk
Haha. Next time you will wrap it in a wee sandwich bad with a cable tie. Saves a lot of pennies.
TMaxxDave
That's not a bad idea at all :-) fitted the old Rx and using the old Tx, 27mhz. Red crystal. Lol Sent from my iPad Air using Tapatalk
rcrallyuk
Haha I ran my car the other day with the old crystal set up on the stick controller. Not good lol.
Trans4Mation
Allways good to make it puddle proof lol . Glue gun works well on rx plug holes or blue tack . If you go to.
