raff113 Posted July 24, 2014 Share Posted July 24, 2014 got brand new losi 5 and after first run i tried to start it and it would not fire up , got it home and worked first time , took it out again and same thing happened worked great turned engine off then tried starting and nothing . bought new plug and tried it and sparked nice and bright then tried old plug and that was the same so plugs working fine , tried again and no spark what could be causing this???? Nitroholic Posted July 24, 2014 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Check the killswitch first. Are you running a remote kill? Check the coil and it's related wiring next, starting with the plug cap and working back. The ignition units on these are simple setups. They use a magnet on the flywheel passing the pickup on the coil to generate teh low tension voltage, and the coil does the HT. The kill button just shorts the LT side so you lose spark when yo ustop the engine. Remote killswitches do the same...just with more options and safety. Not much to go wrong.
